Now this sounds like the ITC film distributors logo. I notice that a lot of the old movie productions would be using others peoples songs back in the 70s. Why is that?

Gold Key Entertainment was a television distributer and their logo's are typically found on very low budget films. They also were found on many of the Krofft TV shows that were syndicated to local "re-run" stations". About the only way to locate them nowadays in on old 16mm prints. I have a few of the 70's version and one of the 1980 spinning key version. Great trumpet fanfare on both.
The piece is called "Endeavour", and it was from the Bruton library. (There is a track called "Endeavour" that can be heard online, but it's a different variant with a slower ending.)
truly epic music for an epic logo.

@reignman312 Because library songs were cheaper than hiring someone to compose a theme for you? I don't know, I'm just guessing :o)

There's one of these on the butchered print of "Getting Wasted" on all current DVD copies.

This logo isn't that bad at all. It's pretty good.
MattTheSaiyan 1 year ago
It is the same stock music track used on ITC Film Distributors.

@TServo2049 Do you now the exact name of it, and if was Burton's or KPM's?
LogicSmash 1 year ago
@TServo2049 Yeah, but it's the full track. The music on the ITC logo is slightly shortened.
