I just love thinking how deathly hallows would have been like if Dumbledore was still alive, they would have destoyed the horcruxes in no time, and gotten the hallows so easilly, but no, JK Rownling had to do it :'( Dumbledoreis, in my opinion, the most interesting character of the Harry Potter series, he has a great sense of humor and i like the fact that Harry knew barely nothing of his life

The best thing about the books is Snape. He really is the greatest character. Even after he killed Dumbledore I knew it was a mercy killing because Snape is too awesome a character to be evil. The downside of the movies is that there isn't enough of Alan Rickman's performance. He is teh tits!

i was really upset reading the book when he died but when i saw it in the movie i almost didn't care. they portrayed it terribly, i mean in goblet of fire when you watch cedric die you really care (even thought the character wasn't really shown that much in the film.) i think the problem with dumbledores death was that it was all slowed down and if it was at normal speed showing him fly out the window and hitting the ground that would have been much more powerful..(but thats just my opinion)

I think the reasoning is that Snape didn't intend to murder Dumbledore, he was euthanizing him. Intent is everything in executing Unforgiveable Curses, so it stands to reason it would look different.

SPOILER, in the book, dumbledore had a cursed cast on his hand, he knew that snape was still in contact with the dark lord and told him that he only had a year to live. So he planned on the death he was to face, and snape just thought it was the perfect moment! But I kinda feel bad for snape cuz everybody hates him now. Later in the las book/movie, a war is held at hogwarts and Fred waesley dies! So sad

Dumbledore asked snape to kill him because he was under a curse which he got after touching the marvolo ring and he knew that he was going to die anyways. Dumbledore was a genius because by doing this he instated Snape as the headmaster of hogwarts and further cemented his place among the death eaters, dumbledore knew that Snape would take care of hogwarts ones he is gone as Snape remained faithful to dumbledore till his own death
