I am sure we can all to club together to pay towards the £8 Paul if you keep getting us these fabulous pictures. Yes it is ridiculous to charge that much. What percentage of visitors are paying to get that close though?
It's a shame the British summer has lived up to its reputation so far and you certainly are doing a lot of travelling in a short space of time, is there anything you would like to share with us?
You can get reasonable pics from the fence, but considering its a couple hundred miles from where I live, it would of been a wasted journey not paying to see the stones up close. As for anything to share, well yes, recently booked a flight for next week, its a 600 mile plus round trip and the flight costed 2p Return, thats less than 4 American Cents. So no I have not won the lottery, I just look for bargain flights etc. I love travel and so wish I could get away for more than a day at a time.
So in relative terms, you paid 400 times more to get closer to stonehenge than to fly there. Bizarre or what. You are making the most of the time you've got, nothing wrong with that, a lot of us could learn from your lesson. You just never know what's around the corner..
Thanks for commenting Brian, I never went here as a kid, but I know from old family pics, that I have seen of auntys/uncles when they were their as kids, that they clambered over the stones, its a bit of a joke realy to get close enough for decent pictures, costs around £8
Thde last time I went there they had just started charging and I made a complete tit of myself by telling them they were welcome to charge foreign visditors but as that pile of rocks is part of my f***in' heritage I should get in free. I failed
You do get to travel about a lot. I was surprised by my response the first time I saw StoneHenge. I actually felt quite tearful thinking that it's stood the test of time though it was built so long ago. Cheers, Lesley
I went there with Nat. It is fasinating the theories behind it but my bet is it was the Millenium Dome of it's time and not the centre of everything that we think it is....great pics though paul
Wow. I always wanted to see stonehenge, it's one of the seven wonders of the world. Thanks for the video responce! Hope to hear more!

It's for the protection of the monument, not so the staff can laugh at your failed attempt at trying to touch it.

There are some very strange standing stones all over Britain. I don't think we'll ever know the reasons.
