Interesting to see all the nods to Xexex. This game doesn't look particularly good, though - the way the tentacle mechanic is employed looks like it slows down the overall pace of the game more than it should (do you HAVE to wait until the timer runs out before your tentacles deploy?).
I'd still like to get my hands on it, but eh, it looks pretty ho-hum.
This game is called Otomedius (Otome+Gradius), it's just been announced for release for the Japanese 360. Typically it's unlikely we'll ever see it in the west ¬_¬ -
Man, when I heard this was supposed to be a "successor" to Parodius my heart sang with joy...then I saw this clip of the game. I actually don't care if it makes it stateside or not now. -_-
why not release it for PSN?

You never know about that. It's Konami and Gradius, after all.
Speaking of which, I'm getting a strong Gradius IV vibe from this, and that's not exactly filling my heart with hope.
