my SS-X 18 broke on me too. honestly i was not impressed with the overall build quality, i dont know why sonic does their tinsel leads how they do but for those who dont know, they use rings to the terminals and mine werent even soldered. they just crimped them and surprisingly they pulled out of the rings and i had to solder them on, triple joint failed, no cone was stuck to the coil and visa versa it was a shitty glue joint. i cut off the cap for repair and damn little glue in there...
This would explain why Surreal was taking so long "building" the sub I ordered from him. He was waiting for SS to put it together and ship it to him :) Glad I told him we wanted our money back!!!!!

@ModzVonXyborg Ummmm???? Yes, they use the same basket but that is about it. They look close at first but they have different cones, tinsel leads, spiders, top plates, magnets, back plates and voice coils. This is from looking at both of their websites and READING the features on them.

Distortion kills. You blew the amps before the subs, so it was very apparent something needed to be corrected. At the end of the day, I never was able to inspect anything, and I never received the sub although you we were fully in contact ....Sorry you feel that way.
@surreaLinnovatioN LMFAO ive tore apart 100's of blown and broken subs. if these were destroyed from a amp the coils would have been damaged in some way , the coils and motors are in perfect shape , on the other hand the spiders tore, surrounds tore , , the soft parts are some of the worst ive seem in awhile. ill take PLENTY of video proof to show EVERYONE whats up ! let everyone see with there own eyes !

And everyone knows those subs may have had 2 3200 Watt emperor on them but on 2 cheap ass battery So they were never even close to rms let alone Max power on them. Any ways all the lead problems cone problems spider problems were on the Memphis 4k wired at 2 ohms. One at a time I've only been running one sub since August

We've been contacted a total of 3 times maybe three time regarding a simple popped tinsel with a J816-10", in which no sub was ever returned to me or have I ever received even a tracking number. Futhermore, I gave more than reasonable response considering numerous videos putting a clamied "6400watts" to subs that have a recommended power range of 2300w.
I'm contactable by number, email, website, Facebook including pokes. We are NOT hard to get a hold of.

Well I run SS and I can only speak from what I know and that's the fact that the manufacturer of SS isn't a shady person, I have been dealing with him for over a year and have NEVER had any issues (of an extreme nature) if something went wrong or needed to be addressed, he did so in a timely manner & wasn't about digging back into my pocketbook ... this truly is a wtf moment, but more so on the end of SI... I mean it wasn't SI reveiled under the SS dust cap, but vise versa..smh@SI
You can't say that SS is shady because another company glued a dustcap over theirs. That like you selling one of your crazy eights with a Mazda2284 dustcap. Then the buyer glues another cap on it and sells it as something else. Then someone buys them tears them apart and sees your dustcap. Would you want them to then call you shady even though you had nothing to do with it?

Never heard of Surreal Innovations, are they supposed to be an actual subwoofer company or is that the name of a local shop selling "their own" subwoofers? I know some local shops sell their own subs, but they are really DC Audio subs with custom dustcaps that have the shops name or logo on them. Thats a deal DC and some other companies work out with their authorized retail shops so they can get their subs into more vehicles.
@NewEnglandSPL I am on their facebook and asked about manufacturing. According to the owner it's all hand made in America in their small shop but I always wondered why they had no pics of the equipment! lol

Orion hcca's are beast subs! I heard 2 12s ONLY 2 12s In a suv on wall hit 158.4 decibels, thats beast mode right there, i believe they were powered by rocksford fosgate amp 4000 watts RMS, it took out 4 15s sundown audio also on wall hitting 156.2 decibels, and also beat 2 18s on wall hitting 157.8 decibels #ORION WINS

As far as GPI and DC topic they are both built at DC but the GPI Subwoofers have nothing in common with DC different motor, coils, spiders, cones, and dustcaps.. i personally know the creator of GPI and this is fact.. as far as other brands they have smaller companys and partners that assist in the selling of their product but as far as just putting a dustcap over a dust cap thats just funny LMAO!! but its kinda bs that they told u they were not associated.. wow

many companies do this... you made of heard of the newer gpi subwoofers made by dc... thay are still awesome subs. audioque and digital designs have alot in common. are you mad because they lied or bc they paid ss to build them ss the subs.. ssl has some descent equipment. kinda like the smd's being built by ascendent audio

@surreaLinnovatioN LMFAO ive tore apart 100's of blown and broken subs. if these were destroyed from a amp the coils would have been damaged in some way , the coils and motors are in perfect shape , on the other hand the spiders tore, surrounds tore , , the soft parts are some of the worst ive seem in awhile. ill take PLENTY of video proof to show EVERYONE whats up ! let everyone see with there own eyes !

And everyone knows those subs may have had 2 3200 Watt emperor on them but on 2 cheap ass battery So they were never even close to rms let alone Max power on them. Any ways all the lead problems cone problems spider problems were on the Memphis 4k wired at 2 ohms. One at a time I've only been running one sub since August

We've been contacted a total of 3 times maybe three time regarding a simple popped tinsel with a J816-10", in which no sub was ever returned to me or have I ever received even a tracking number. Futhermore, I gave more than reasonable response considering numerous videos putting a clamied "6400watts" to subs that have a recommended power range of 2300w.
I'm contactable by number, email, website, Facebook including pokes. We are NOT hard to get a hold of.

Wtf!!!! Well I run SS and I can only speak from what I know and that's the fact that the manufacturer of SS isn't a shady person, I have been dealing with him for over a year and have NEVER had any issues (of an extreme nature) if something went wrong or needed to be addressed, he did so in a timely manner & wasn't about digging back into my pocketbook ... this truly is a wtf moment, but more so on the end of SI... I mean it wasn't SI reveiled under the SS dust cap, but vise versa..smh@SI

You can't say that SS is shady because another company glued a dustcap over theirs. That like you selling one of your crazy eights with a Mazda2284 dustcap. Then the buyer glues another cap on it and sells it as something else. Then someone buys them tears them apart and sees your dustcap. Would you want them to then call you shady even though you had nothing to do with it?

Never heard of Surreal Innovations, are they supposed to be an actual subwoofer company or is that the name of a local shop selling "their own" subwoofers? I know some local shops sell their own subs, but they are really DC Audio subs with custom dustcaps that have the shops name or logo on them. Thats a deal DC and some other companies work out with their authorized retail shops so they can get their subs into more vehicles.

@JonDeth Thats pretty low if they really just glued their sticker over someone else's dustcap. They probably bought a bunch off of SS at dealer pricing and through their own stickers on them. Neither company is that well known, so most people wouldn't catch on.

@NewEnglandSPL I have seen a lot of this. 20 years ago my bicycle seat at K-Mart was 7 bucks generic brand. Over at the trick bike shop it had GT stamped on it and was 50 bucks. On the inside, same serial and model number embossed on them.
Neither show photos on facebook of a manufacturing facility. I've assumed from the day I saw them on Brad's channel they were coming out of Asia but didn't want the arguments. Could be American made by Orevox like JL Audio started out.

@JonDeth ever heard of Kevil,KY thats where they get magnetized. yes we buy our parts in the us and assemble them all parts are patent and to are specs. we are small. we are not a company like jl or rockford who has a huge facilty for building. we basically ONLY deal with dealers and do direct to customers if there is no dealer. no internet sales at all cuz that is killing the dealers. and if u go to the ss fb page u will see alot of our pictues .its called research.

Everyone is under the impression you are engineering the products and manufacturing all components in your own facility THEN assembling them all by hand. No CNC machines.

Orion hcca's are beast subs! I heard 2 12s ONLY 2 12s In a suv on wall hit 158.4 decibels, thats beast mode right there, i believe they were powered by rocksford fosgate amp 4000 watts RMS, it took out 4 15s sundown audio also on wall hitting 156.2 decibels, and also beat 2 18s on wall hitting 157.8 decibels #ORION WINS

As far as GPI and DC topic they are both built at DC but the GPI Subwoofers have nothing in common with DC different motor, coils, spiders, cones, and dustcaps.. i personally know the creator of GPI and this is fact.. as far as other brands they have smaller companys and partners that assist in the selling of their product but as far as just putting a dustcap over a dust cap thats just funny LMAO!! but its kinda bs that they told u they were not associated.. wow
