  • loveless poster

  • WHAT MOVIE

  • wöw_sucht_mÂl_Nách:_geldeasy_äüf_gÕØgle

  • Julian Donkey boy is a work of genius IMO

  • wait wait....Alvin Law and Werner Herzog?!?!?! How do they know eachother????

  • @lordofallfire They come from the same dimension.

  • Comment removed

  • that's a dr. beat in the backround. Im marching now......cheesy poofs.

  • so könnte echt so schön sein wenn mich einer vor dem allein sein rettet

  • "You're cheating."

"What, cards up my sleeve?! I don't think so!"

    LMAO

  • "Harmony Korine on Werner Herzog, modern cinema's greatest filmmaker."

    Nuh uh.

  • @Hellzyead agreed, and agreed. lynch fan?

  • @Hellzyead admit that the shining was horrendously entertaining.

  • @Hellzyead kubrick

  • Herzog's exploitation of the Indian extras during the Filming of Fitz Geraldo was so bad that extras actually were killed without knowing exactly what they were doing which has made it next to impossible to do films in the rainforest with the help of the natives.

  • @nihon0019

    That's just a rumor.

  • @THEGlassIED it is not a tumor!!! Gyaow!!

  • @nihon0019 Check your sources before making outlandish remarks.

  • @Gwyll2501

I'm not discrediting Herzog as an auteur, but watch the documentary about the native Amazonian extras that played the Guarani in the 'Mission'. Then get back to me. It seems to be trendy to forgive the nauseating, and deliberate transgressions of European film makers these days. Yes I said that, and I think Roman Polanski SHOULD go to jail.

  • @nihon0019 what are you even talking about? can you link it? there is no evidence that i can find of the "mission" on the internet.

  • @boxofnoise go on Netflix and order the 2 disc remastered version. It has a behind the scenes documentary about how the producers of the mission hired a tribe of indians to play the Guarani. I don't care enough to make this up, it's just something that needs to be taken into consideration. What I CAN link you to, is a video of Herzog talking about his loathing for the jungle, which by association, one assumes, extends to the people that habitate it.

  • @nihon0019 If you watch the whole thing he wraps it up by saying he admires the jungle, against his better judgement.

  • I've made, and substantiated my point as much as is required for a youtube posting battle and I stand by it. Say what you will, I wipe my hands clean of the issue and will now resume my normal, productive life.

  • @nihon0019 oh wait you mean fitzcarraldo. man i hate it when people just post youtube comments without even thinking. if you are gonna take a stance on something it would help to know what you are talking about.

  • @boxofnoise What did you think I was talking about?

  • hey harmony! some of use actually LIKE whitesnake you asshole!

  • actual aerial m isnt a band, its one guy.

  • huhuich fände es richtig schön wen mich jemand vor dem allein sein erlöst , grade langweile pur

  • mhjungs aus De? Bin total einsam wer hat lust zu schreibn

  • what's the song at the end?

  • sugar baby by dock boggs

  • Werner Herzog has more ideas than any other filmmaker, IMHO. At nineteen he had more sense than most men three times his age.

  • Whitesnake

  • the backwards music at the start is from a band called "aerial m".

  • Is that loveless in the background?

  • really the best i don't thinks so Herzog is the number 1 all time filmmaker

  • herzog rules, but kitano is the best filmmaker...

  • 0:41

  • he's quite athletic eh?

  • Herzog is great, and I loved him in Julien Donkey-Boy. Even more interesting is to see Harmony give a normal interview and not act like an ass like on Letterman.

  • I think that may be to do with the circumstances....

  • Yeah whats up with that. Was that him acting or is he really that awkward?

Anyways, I really love Herzog's character in the movie..almost like a dead man living out the rest of his life telling esoteric stories.

Also, the soundtrack is integrated beautifully in the movie.

  • ...or else it gets the hose again.

  • Comment removed

  • interesting style.

an interesting way of seeing things.

  • Werner Herzog was in this? all the more reason to see it, now if only i could find it...

  • you can find it on netflix, that's where i found it. :)

  • whats the song at the end? sounds like a blues song?

  • hah that movie is the shit, the scenes with herzog alone in his bedroom are golden

  • fuck you scum

  • no fuck you, you ignorant piece of trash. if you actually knew anything about films you wouldn't be licking this guy's balls. this kid is completely overrated, only idiots that have just discovered arthouse cinema actually think this kid is good. while many other amazing filmmakers are suffering and this stoner kid turned director gets all the money and attention for his piece of shit movies

  • wow. toke burns. YOU my friend, are a fucking idiot. maybe you're the one that knows nothing about film. harmony korine is fucking amazing. he's someone who actually has the balls to challenge convention in film. Film is a form of art, which is meant to push envelopes and challenge our minds. the suffering filmmakers must not be so amazing if they can't make something better than this 'stoner kid' and there's so much more to him than that. he has an incredible mind. unlike you.

  • i know more about films than you, because you obviously know NOTHING about art films if you dig harmony korine, he's films are art films for 10 year olds. you want a fucking art film? watch movies by Amos Gitai, Carlos Reygadas, Kenji Mizoguchi or in a more popular case, Abbas Kiarostami. have you heard of these filmmakers? i bet you haven't. because THEY are true filmmaking artists and masters. fuck your trying to patronize me with your fucking art statements.

  • no i havent heard of them, like it matters. thanks for the recommendation tho, i will check them out. although i dont really jack off to 'art' films like you seem to. have you considered the fact that maybe i'm just a fan of indie film in general? and maybe i happen to not constrict myself to only 'art' film? i think most people would agree harmony korine is a talented filmmaker, no matter what subgenre you try to stick him in. but obviously ur the supreme ruler in what films are good or not.

  • and no, i don't like to be heard as a critic or ruler in quality. but film is my passion and favorite art and i have been studying it for a little less than a year. so it really grinds my shit when ignorant people like you start saying korine is a genius and what not when hes films are completely unoriginal and overrated.

BTW- i actually smoke pot and have made my own short film so quit trying to bring my statements down because i know what i'm talking about

  • lets see ur short film. online anywhere? how about a link.

  • no it's not posted anywhere, but it's pretty simple and not really admirable (it's my first ever and i did it on a zero budget). but i'd like to clarify, i don't think i'm better than HK or you. i just get pissed off when people like you cream their pants just by watching his unoriginal films, please, please watch more films, this guy is nothing. and if you wanna talk "credentials" i've only directed that one time, but i've worked on three shorts and one feature film (not that it's relevant)

  • and actually, whether u think he's overrated or not, i think some could argue that he's the most original. how many other filmmakers use the process he does to come up with his films, how many others come up with such 'stories', or use such unconventional filmming/editing techniques? MY passion is film, it's MY favorite art, so i think i have just as much right to an opinion as you do. and if you want to use the time youve studied and how many films you've made as credentials, i've got you beat.

  • damn, 2 years in highschool and one in college? and your still watching HK movies, grow up man, i just don't understand how you got me beat, your 6 years older than me and have studied film for three years? yet your ignorant ass has no idea who Mizoguchi is, i'd say i got you beat. and you proved ignorant again when you said he's films were "experimental", so answer me when you actually know what you're talking about. almost every filmmaker from c. park to j. schnabel uses those techniques.

  • uhhhhh.....I think I am in the wrong place.....hey whats up.

  • its funny how you automatically assume that since i like harmony korine that i'm a stoner, and that strictly based on that fact that i know nothing about film. i've seen cassavette films, i've seen herzog films, of course, and i loved those. but i also love harmony korine. he gives people like me a reason to start making film. if he can make it, i can make it. and theyre not weird images, theyre beautiful images. if you dont realize that then ur the fucking ignorant ass who doesnt understand art

  • and of course, you can google the names i gave you, and claim to know... this ignorant stoner watched a couple of cassavettes and herzog films then he became a filmmaker, and appears on david letterman and earns tons of money and shit, and he has stoner fans who know NOTHING of film, like you. but true Artists who actually CHALLENGE your mind (instead of just giving you weird images to look at like HK) stay and die poor. it's the biggest injustice ever. go watch a J. Reitman film and call it art

  • Comment removed

  • i looked up a few trailers for films by those guys, and the only one that really seems that interesting is silent light by carlos reygadas. do you really have no respect for any american filmmakers? that is a fatal flaw in someone who claims to know so much about good film. amos gitai's kippur: anything that is compared to saving private ryan, or any spielburg film, is shit to me. it doesnt get more opposite from art than fucking spielburg. if you want to make urself feel good, make ur own film.

  • go watch silent light and maybe you'll get the idea of why i hate this guy so much. he's rich and appears on letterman, Reygadas is virtually unknown outside mexico and france. the first five minutes of his movies have more talent and artistic value than all the crap HK has ever done. i am not close minded, i like both spielberg and kusturica, i don't limit myself to art films, and you totally missed my point. you say spielberg is shit? Your the closed minded one buddy.

  • Not shit per se, but i'm not a fan of conventional, hollywood films. being a fan of film in general i have to have some respect for him, but its not my forte. and I, my friend, have been studying film for 2 years in high school, and one year of college. My friends and i have made numerous short films, (tho i will say not very serious) but are making a feature length this summer. so i think i know shit about film too, all thanks to harmony korine. i smoke too, lets leave this discussion at that

  • ok, so you're entitled to your opinion. and so am i. i know he's infinitely overrated. so i recommend watching Japon and Taste of Cherry, the latter i think is a masterpiece and if you like HK's crap, you'll have multiple orgasms with these.

  • fair enough

  • also, you criticize korine so much and say he's not real art house, maybe he's not trying to be art house. if i stuck it in a genre i would completely say experimental. if any of his films are art house, or close to it, its mister lonely. which is amazing. i bet my anal virginity that you'll say that movie is shit.

  • moody groovin is amazing

  • Herzog ... isn't he the director that one of his screenwriters once commented: "I could imagine myself the deepest most dishonest crudest and yellowest murderer of babies and infants fouling human air with my decrepit fesces, but I would never want to be you."

  • correction -- 'compassion for m'

  • aerial m (pajo from slint/tortoise) - dazed and awake

  • what is that indie song except at the beginning, its some instrumental band like mogwai or someone else, probably from chicago like joan of Arc or Tristeza or some band like that...

  • SMOKIN A DOOB

  • Herzog look's like a extrordinary bad parent

  • Don't say that. You'll get the hose.

  • No way. That's what Donkey Boy is?! Hey, when is Korine gonna do something new?

  • mister lonely came out this year

  • I love harmony and werner! they are both amazing! and as a collaboration...they are golden...if you haven't seen 'julien donkey boy'...buy it because you will want to watch it over and over!

  • does anyone else think the guy with no arms looks like Ed Norton...just a lil bit

  • yeah i did

  • It's because it is.

  • i thought it was for a second

  • You thought it looks like Edward Norton, but you weren't be able to tell that it IS Edward Norton by the sound of his voice?

  • you've never seen that alex pardee drawing?

    .ah oh well..

    im not going to explain

  • I like Herzog's parenting style with the garden hose.

  • harmony korine is going to be giving a masterclass on thursday in mexico city!!

  • he's wearing a whitesnake tshirt...awesome

  • you got to love Herzog´s work!

  • gay tee

  • yeah he should had been wearing a bape jacket, ya know all those new rap styles

  • i would say you've saved about 3

  • Great post! They're both great filmmakers!

  • Harmony Korine is not a genius. Not to say he's untalented, but he is not a genius.

  • You must be the leading expert on what genius is. Nice to meet you.

  • I'm not, but nice to meet you too.

  • i hope all of you people that dont like harmony know you will only make people that like him and his work love the two even more. not to mention he will never read what you say...hope ive saved several seconds of various people's lives...

  • Werner Herzog is a genius...Harmony Korine is a douchebag.

  • Why do you think he's a douchebag? (I'm no particular fan or anything, I'm just curious)

  • Why waste time explaining why a douchebag is a douchebag? Life is too short...better to contemplate the genius that is Herr Stipetic.

  • Who in turn seems to have quite a fondness for Mr. Korine. "the route to a man's heart is through his stomach, hence the tougne is the guardian of the heart, hense the taste is the root of the man" as my mother would have said to me if I was a girl and she wanted to marry me off and she was drunk.

  • I said he was a genius, not infallible.

  • I suppose Dali supported Franco didn't he? I've heard good things about his new film though (didn't like donkey boy though), and just because someone's a good artist doesn't stop them from being an arsehole and visa versa.

  • harmony korines fuckin genius! hes done more than youll ever acheive!

  • Your post is genius.

    (Unlike Harmony Korine.)

  • fairdoes, cant argue wi that! ;)

  • Here's another thing you can't argue with: you are a dummy.

  • whooo! you used my name and the word pooper in the same sentence!

  • whitesnake... 80s hair metal. This was before the 'ironic t-shirt' celebrity thing. You can see the kids in Gummo wearing Poison and Dio t-shirts.

  • what shirt is he wearing

  • Are you aware that Rollins is never going to read this?

  • There's an interesting article on how Werner Herzog directed Kinski in Aguirre, Wrath of God in the latest edition of the UK film magazine Vertigo. Vertigo regularly features Herzog, Korine and similar filmmakers. Some of the articles are free on the Vertigo website. It's worth checking out.

  • oh my wait to see Mr Lonely, Herzog plays a savior priest with a flock of flying nuns, lovely lovely da

  • trimassa essa busca aleatória q rola

  • Herzog and Bale - see RESCUE DAWN.

  • does somebody know, where those scenes of werner herzog are coming from?

  • Julien Donkey Boy

    see it.

  • that guy with no arms came to my junior high school and played chopsticks and the drums for us. he was a motivational speaker. pretty cool guy.

  • Yeah I saw that guy (sans arms) once too. He told some funny jokes about overcoming everyday life without arms. I think it's great when hanicapped people make light of their maladies. It makes me feel more comfortable about the whole thing. When that guy came to my school, he brought a bunch of body-building christians who were ripping up phonebooks with their bare hands.

  • harmony, i love you, but the whole ironic t-shirt thing is really beneath someone of your talents!

  • yeah, wen i grow i want to listen to dock boggs, while listening to tony conrad, while listening to bonnie prince billy, while watching a hearzog film, while read a book on art... puke

  • VIVA WHITESNAKE!

  • When I grow up I want to lie in bed listening to Dock Boggs with a gas mask on my head, just like Werner.

  • amazing shirt hes wearing..scumbag lol
