The city is thinking of tearing down the VREL& P National Register Buldings to create "green space" which is unfortunate since they have ruined several historic buildngs including the police station also on the video. First brick church is First Presbyterian and is also connected to the Candler family.
Oh and at 0:29..thats the building that Coca Cola was originally invented. John Pemperton came up with it and used to sell it in that building where it says "DUI" which used to be a pharmacy back in the day. Then he took it to Atlanta where it was marketed. Not many people know that. Just think, you drove by where it was first created! lol
The person who tried to pronounce "Villa Rica" 2nd was closest to the way we say it.
Actually, the DUI is not it, the two yellow buidlings at the beginning are the Old Villa Rica Electric Light and Power where Coke was bottled in Villa Rica. Asa Candler is from here but took Coke to Atlanta. Local lore said Pemberton closed the sale here but no solid proof. Pemberton invented Coke in Columbus, Georgia.
