Sad news from the world of extreme sports. Nationally famous ice climber Jack Roberts died after falling 60 feet in a climb, per the Huffington Post.

The pro climber, author and guide was leading a climb up the Bridal Veil Falls near Telluride, Colo., when he plummeted. The 58-year old Roberts survived the fall with a broken hip and possible internal injuries -- but went into cardiac arrest during the rescue, according to DenverChannel. Rescuers spend 40 minutes trying to resuscitate him.
