That's not the point. It's none of his business how much anyone makes. I've never heard a president say such things. The dems are always looking for their next demon. Chris Dodd the quitter, who is responsible for a lot of financial messes, should not even be allowed to touch this issue. @daveperk well, That's the very foundation of the capitalist system to begin with - you make money by selling goods your services, EMPLOY others & let the market decide whether you succeed or not - benefits to society are per definition part of the system (employing others and your goods/services) thats what he talked about and you know it.

Self interest is good, but if you decide to NOT pay salories or NOT ship your goods because then you make more money - then self interest IS bad.

He's talking about making profits by selling products which pollute the earth (oil, coal, etc) is FAIR to society.
