You also want to look up for SwissKnife in order to format it to FAT32.

I've bought one at Best Buy at a commercial promotional price at around the same price as a 500GB. Don't buy it. You'll have mechanical failures in less than 2 weeks, and if your running the drivers for it off the followed instructions, you'll lose 60 percent of your CPU power. The money isn't worth it.

@SunburntWaffles I believe that it will not work because I believe It can only support about up to a 16gb flash drive. Maybe when Microsoft releases a patch to use 32gb drives, maybe that would be useful, but other than that, don't trust PC only hard drives for any console because they're not that powerful to read more than 16gb. Sorry man.

I got the newer SE 1TB USB 3.0 & you can't find out what the rpm's or cache is - ANYWHERE! So, I called WD & they said they can't tell you cause they don't know. Said it's probably just 5400 rpm's and only 8 mb of cache.

Won't that reduce the data transfer rate or slow it down in some way? If so, why didn't they make them 7200 rpm's with 32 mb of cache? What's up with that? I feel a bit deceived & wonder if I should return it. People should be able to see what the rpm's & chache is.

I have the same device but I use it on my macbook

it looks like I can transfer files from the hard drive to the laptop but not the opposite which is exactly why bought it for as an external hard drive

@Hedll yes it is, almost every single external HDD is compatible, i have a fujitsu 4200RPM 300GB as external HDD for my PS3 =)

But since I formated the hdd, I can't use it in the PS3 anymore. I use the FAT32 but it only gives me 132GB free of 320GB. So what the hell? it's unfair.

@Hedll Hmm that's weird, try formatting it back to NTFS to see if it goes back to normal, and if it does format it back to FAT32, hopefully it will solve the problem

I like this hardrive, but it's fucking unstable especially the Micro USB. It's so loose that even if you touch it just a little, it would disconnect.. You can't touch this thing while it's in use or else it will disconnect.. It bugs the crap out of me.. I don't know if it's the hardrive itself or if I need to purchase a new cable.. I use this to watch movies, and I have to becareful with it everytime because just a slight touch, and it will disconnect like nothing.

@letseatpopcorn Well.. The problem is sord of fix because I emailed Western company, and they sent me a new Micro USB Cable that looks exactly the same thing.. It works fine now, I don't know how or why but it's way stable then before.. I bought mines from ebay a while back like 3 months ago for 115 dollars. It was brand new in a sealed package with covers and everything.. I now freaking love this thing except I wish it was more space because I download ALOT OF MOVIES.

Also, this thing is sexy and sleek so that's a plus but it leaves fingerprints and dust really easy.. If you ever buy one, you should get a cover for it like around 15 bucks at target.. I got mines for free though. I also saw the one for 1tb, but I didn't buy it because that's like 100 dollars more.. Lmao.
