The Shadowless Kick (Chinese: 無影腳; pinyin: wúyǐngjiǎo), also known as the No-Shadow Kick or Ghost-Shadow Kick is a martial arts technique in the Hung Gar repertoire. It was made famous by Chinese folk hero Wong Fei Hung, who is reputed to have used it to great effect.
It's not Japanese. I had heard that it was part Cantonese, part gibberish, and part English. Either way, it's irrelevant as long as everyone can agree it sounds fucking awesome. I like it because it's kind of how Mew is and it's kind of what art is. It's up to you what you take from it.
it's in japanese you fools... they have a huge fan base there, even opened for the flaming lips in tokyo and yes, denmark doth rock!! ck out the repeater vid if you get a chance, you'll hear some danish, very unique sounding language.
I am from hong kong and I do really grasp some hints of Cantonese, though I dun understand a single phrase. But who cares. I like the song very much. Mew got the true talent of making rubbish words enchanting.
Firstly, it'd not be that odd... if it was a made- up language... look at Bjork, Sigur ros, and Yoko Kano. However, i believe it's Chinese, somewhat garbled by his strong German accent.

Gibberish, Broken English and Cantonese. As the web site says! And also, as the website says, only they will ever really know what it's about. AMAZING song though. Totally and utterly brilliant.
The No-Shadow Kick, aka The Ghost-Shadow Kick, was a favored move of Wong Fei Hung in the late 1800s/early 1900s ... it is not a repetitive air kick used by Jet 'Wire Fu' Li, but a combination of an upperbody grapple (or distraction) and a low fast kick ... the combined effect is that of a very fast kick that hits with great power ... most of the effect is illusionary ... which is where the 'Ghost-Shadow' name comes from.
sorry, i don't speak cantonese very well but i understand quite enough but when it comes to cantonese songs, i cant understand very well what they are saying because it's too fast and also the instruments.

It is, as according to the band, a mix of Cantonese with other languages and gibberish, kinda like Vonlenska.

The No Shadow Kick. A powerful repetitive air kick and only Jet Li can do it.
