  • Great inspirational rally and just a beautifully done montage. I hope we see more activism in the near future.

  • I remeber my first time trying to breast feed mom son in public, This older lady told me I was wrong and I needed to put a blaket over his head! So I took my son's blanket out of his bag and THREW it ov the both on to her head and said very nicely well only if you cover your face! She was pissed to say the least!

  • Hey! I'm in this! It's weird to find a youtube video of yourself 2 years after the fact!

  • love it =]

  • you might think im kinda silly, but i got goosebumps on my arms and tears in my eyes while watching this. i wish i couldve been there to support these wonderful women. ive taken some flak for nursing from my stepdad, till i finally said, "if you dont like me nursing, You put a blanket on YOUR head. its other people's embarassment, and i refuse to own it too.

  • I'm so happy to see this video and how FINALLY breastfedsing is actually being considered "normal"!I wish this would get passed on to Florida! Not many moms breastfeed here, and I'm made to feel like such an odd ball for nursing my 7 month old. As if I am doing something ridiculous and disgusting.

What hope do we have for humanity when a mother feeding her child the way nature intended, is looked down on?

    Rock on nursing moms!!

  • I just dont understand why not drape a light weight blanket over so noone has to see. i am currently exspecting and do not plan on breastfeeding.

  • Well then I guess you will never experience how fun it is to try to use a blanket every time your baby eats, or how hot, or how your baby pulls it off, or how your baby is expected to have to not breathe fresh air, or how you are supposed to feel ashamed because your baby is eating. It's not natural.

  • Most of the ladies in this film are using proper nursing etiquette.

@amyphilo If you use nursing etiquette and be discreet no one will notice or care, I've even used a breast pump in public, and no one noticed. If you walk around with your boobs flopped out over your shirt then it can offend people. You know you have a baby and are breastfeeding...be prepared with the correct nursing attire. Buy a nursing top, sheesh!

  • Ok, you can bottle feed. Just be sure to keep a blanket over your baby's head so no one has to see it.

  • it was a question and that is not the same. a boob and bottle are totally different. i saw my aunt do it when i was younger and it freaked me out so bad.

  • Why does a BOB freak you out? It's a body part. A functioning body part, doing it's primary job! The same as a hand, mouth or nose. They have primary jobs and humans should use their body parts for their primary purose. I think it's sick that the primary function of a breast is "gross" to people but when it's plastered on a billboard with nothing but a bandaid piece of fabric covering the nipple, with deep sexual inuendo's then it's a-okay. But that's the breast's secondary function!

  • i was about 6 or 7, that is what freaked me out i had never been around that. i wont be using them for that or anything else. i dont like seeing it plastered on a billboard either. i just don't like seeing them. i hate mine.

  • Man that is REALLY REALLY SAD that you hate your own body. For your sake I hope you don't have girls and pass along such negative body images!

  • maybe she has either really big breast or small and maybe that is what she is saying. i see nothing else about the rest of her body

  • The thing is, a blanket isn't even necessary. I have friends and family members who breastfed and although not all of them used blankets or coverups, all of them managed to nurse without drawing attention to themselves.

Of course, doing so didn't demonstrate to everyone around them what awesome mothers they are, but then they were too busy BEING awesome mothers to care whether anyone else thought so.

  • Some women show alot more. like i say my aunt and it freaked me out. so its not for me, i had started researching breastfeeding a while back and since i am expecting i have decided not to

  • So friggen what, if some women show more. People PAY to see nipples on the big screen all the time. But once you put a baby on the nipple then it's a "bad thing". Priorities are really F'd up there! So don't BF from the source, but would you consider simply pumping for the sake of your child? Give your baby the best milk for him/her? You get your bottle, and your baby gets the BEST milk!

  • I don't pay to see nipples on the big screen. No i won't pump, i will be drying up a.s.a.p.

  • This is off topic but I am desperate to get some more help! I need help immediately... please sign my petition against the MOTHERS Act (a plan to screen and drug pregnant and postpartum women) go to uniteforlife dot org to get the URL

    This is URGENT!

  • Can't we support mothers with whatever method they use to feed their babies? I'm not a bad mom because I bottle fed my sweet babies! Of course breast milk is best! But to the lactivists who offer unsolicited statistics & self-righteous comments to a mother innocently trying to nourish her child with a bottle, suspend your judgment until you know her story. We must treat ALL our sisters with compassion, make sure the facts are out there, & be thankful that it's 2008 and we have options!

  • This video is about breastfeeding, not bottle feeding. If you want to support moms go make a bottle feeding support video. Never mind that the international laws would prohibit you from profiting on it, but go ahead.

  • breast feed all you want amyphilo, but cover your ugly saggy mom tits in public, its public indecency, indecent exposure, either way its illegal.. all he asked her to do was to cover her TIT. You're ignorant white trash just like the rest of the feminist cunts out there protesting over NOTHING.

  • that's just ridiculous, it's protected in all states but 10, if a child is hungry, you don't always have the time to worry about who is around you and watchin, if you don't like it, don't look. Breastfeeding is 1000 times healthier for a child, read a book on it, you just sound ignorant, which I am sure you are. i'm a guy btw, and i am taking a child development class, formula feeding is TERRIBLE for children, but unfortunaley it's necessary sometimes in certain cases. now be nice.

  • I agree with you. I think mothers choice is what is important and if that choice is breastfeeding they shouldnt have to hide it or go in to a bathroom. Breastfeeding is hard at times and there are many other reasons why someone might not be able to or want to breastfeed.

  • Love Mother Suckers! Says it all!

  • Maher, pick on someone else. You reached a low moment when you punched mom in the boob. You exposed your ignorance and gender bias, and that genie won't go back into the bottle. We are the backbone of humanity, keeping the species alive.

Consider the pressure a mom has on her to fulfill the complex needs of the baby. Sadly, you have no interest, so just continue thinking Hooters & you'll be good to go.

  • Our society admires clevage, tight pants, short skirts and porn, but never the tit in the babe's mouth. Why? Because we are lost in a maze of confused values. The life source of human breastmilk is recognized internationally as superior. Yet people are put off when women try to give this gift the their young. This is neurotic. Time for this debate to come out of the closet.

  • I love your comment. That is so well put.

  • One of the problems moms face is being made fun of when they do "the right thing". For example "I want some of what that kid is haveing". Should we consider locking up the moms & babes while they behave so disgustingly?

  • YAY!!

Anywhere that you'd bottlefeed, you can breastfeed... it's that simple!

    ANYTIME!! ANYWHERE!!

  • I like this saying: Breastfeed EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!

  • Lovely response. I've nursed 5 kids, they are now ages 24 to 5 mos, and I've got a grandson whose mommy breastfed him too. I'm so glad to see this spirit defying those who would deny babies that nurturing. I'm sad to see Bill Maher saying something so stupid, I usually enjoy his wise ass New Rules. The guy needs a real woman, obviously. Maybe he was bottle fed, poor guy...

  • I LOVE IT! Thanks for posting! :D Five stars, added to favorites!

  • I love the guy with large icons of Our Lady breastfeeding -- yay!

  • Rock on mamas!!!!!!! You made my day! I'm gonna go nurse my boy (7 months old) outside somewhere! Just cuz we can! =)

My mom nursed me 34 years ago until I was 3.5 years. She'd be as proud of you all as I am!

  • Yay! Yep, my mom nursed me until I was 2.5 and my sister until the day before her 4th birthday. She didn't nurse my brother because the doctor gave her a dry up shot because she didn't know if she would be able to stay at home with him.

Yay for human history of all nursing! boo on anyone who thinks there is something wrong with breastfeeding (Bill Mahr for one!)

  • Is that Cas Haley singing? Great Video! Keep rockinn' nursing mamas!!

  • It's Ben Harper - With My Own Two Hands

  • Awesome video! Didn't like the song, but can't please everyone with everything ;) Wish I'd been able to go!

  • That's so cool! I especially loved the part where everyone is eating under blankets. LOL

Yay, human milk for human babies!

  • Fabulous! Kudos to all the mamas, papas and kiddos who took part in this.

  • What a great video! I'm so proud of everyone involved.

  • It might be the pregnancy hormones, but this literally made me cry. I could not participate at a nurse-in, but I was there in spirit cheering everyone on! Thank you to all the Mamas who participated in this. The montage is just beautiful too!!!

  • When I was pregnant I was known to occasionally cry if I saw a mom with her baby nursing, cuddling, read a sweet card or anything similar!

  • Yay BF mamas!! You all ARE making the world a better place for generations to come!!
