  • i love it! fiennes vs jack bauer's father! hahahaha

  • a true classic,up there with animal farm.

  • Was Tom Hollander also in Red Dragon?

  • One of the most underrated movies of the 2000's

  • Merci! That was great!

  • such a great fuckin movie, thanks so much!

  • Americans are such whiny bitches. I may be a bit right wing oriented, but nor Bush or even Obama will ever get to such corrupt and totalitarian levels as an extremist dictators. I think this movie compiles all the bullshit cliches that socialists use to lie to the people, promising freedom and a neverending revolution that just brings poverty, misery and havoc. This a masterpiece, because it's like they took the history of the soviet union, cuba and now venezuela and made a great movie with it.

  • @Pennylane153 it also refers to the british oppression in northern ireland and the americanand british backed shah of iran amongst other

  • @thomasdee02

Eh? You ignorant piece of garbage! Its the IRA Catholic oppression of the minority Protestants that the ENGLISH are trying to prevent but the dumb Americans keep sending funding over to stoke the IRA oppression.I am English Catholic but know what is exactly happening in Northern Ireland. I don't know where you people get the mis-information from. Look at the US - the ghettos, lack of decent housing, lack of decent health care.

  • @joanii11

minority Protestants? protestants are not a minority in NI. Go away you silly child. And what have the US social issues got to do with it?

  • @thomasdee02

Pathetic piece of shit, where do you get this information from?...Yes the Protestants are the minority in Northern Ireland. The English [not British] have pumped billions of pounds into Northern Ireland to atrempt to alleviate the problems but as usual, the rabid few and rest of the world see things as they want to see them.

  • @thomasdee02

Because the US have fueled the troubles in Northern Ireland with their funding but should look at their own problems without causing more for other countries.

  • @joanii11

kid please, it takes more than half hearing on fact to understand a complicated theatre of politics. I advise you to go and acutually read a history book if you are interested, but please don't just spout these little statements without being able to follow them up. Have you ever wondered why the british are in NI in the first place? Or why is it that so many people ended up supporting the IRA and militant republicanism. TBH, I am prob the fool in all of this for wasting my time on u

  • @thomasdee02

    what is NI?

    Sorry for comment creeping.

  • @chica476

northern ireland (part of the uk)

  • @joanii11

slip up here! It should be 'Catholic minority' not Protestant minority.

The current problems in Northern Ireland are not the same problems as they previously, had with the English.

  • @Pennylane153 Why do you have to lump us all together like that? You do know what generalization means, aye? For instance, animal is a generalization of bird because every bird is an animal, and there are animals which are not birds (dogs, for instance).

  • Greenwich foot tunnel is vastly overused.....

  • One of the best movies ever made. There is so much in it, it blows up your mind.

  • Indeed this is a fine to the point movie about evil corrupt politics. I hated Bush's long, horrible term and now the new guy doesn't seem to be doing that well, either. And I voted for BO (forehead slap) Obama is somewhat like little Frodo - seems like he's not to quick to give up 'the precious'. LOL!

  • I'm only watching it because the wonderful Mackenzie Crook is in it :) wich would also mean it's a good movie

  • epic movie

  • Brought this film not so long ago, amazing!!. Could anyone tell me what the opening song is ?

  • Long live democracy. It's my favorite spectator sport.

  • Loved the music in the opening. Haunting brilliance.

  • Thank you for uploading this great film. Really. It's a pitty to see that so little people know this movie, EVERYONE should see it!

  • The ending? Was Joe crazy all along and the whole thing a wild hallucination? "This jail used to be a hospital." Hospital or insane asylum? OR is it the finished job of complete brainwashing by the latest dictatorship? Fine, fine movie!!!

  • Um...maybe this comment should go at the last part of the movie, or at least have a big SPOILER marking to it. Just sayin....

  • Rule #1 never talk to the prisoner.

  • WHAT EXISTED BEFORE MAX 1st's Coup De'tat??? LIBERTY???

  • Papa Max's predecessor was most likely a form of colonial rule. Certain elements hint at French colonial rule. The kepi hats worn as part of the prison guards' uniforms and the 16th century dresses that hide all but the big time cleavage, the wigs, knee pants, and lace laden shirts, the buckled shoes and stockings worn by the Quasi aristocracy (the truely inbred ones who cannot even speak their 'native tongue'.) Possibly surviving colonials who were formerly members of the ruling class.

  • WHAT THE FUCK!!!

Lay waste to teir farms and towns and make their children our SLAVES???

what e HELL! and everyone cheers, plenty of EVIL in that country!

  • the dictator Max Sr. looks really scary!!!

when he yells LONG LOVE DEMOCRACY, LONG LIVE FREEDOM!

WHATTA FIREBRAND DICTATOR, I ALMOST EXPECTED FIRE TO LITTERALLY COME OUTTA HIS MOUTH!

  • the revolution eats its young

the jean-paul marat reference was great

    1984 room 101

    great acting writing and music

  • A fascinating compilation of Marxism (re-education centers), Kim Jong-il, George W. Bush and Barrack Obama politics. And Donald Sutherland, who appeared to be like unto Nelson Mandela at first, and digressed into the living example of how absolute power corrupts absolutely.

There's a lot to be learned from the truth clad as fiction.

"We the people..." are responsible for ourselves.

  • George Bush my ass. Progressives are always trying to project their own sins onto that guy. This movie is not based on characters in the real world. It is a general case of totalitarianism and 'revolution.' This is what 'freedom fighters' like Che and Castro have a tendency to do. And to be perfectly honest, Donald's character was corrupt from the get go. He simply waited until he was secure enough in his new power to reveal it. Much like Obama revealing his intentions after the election.

  • Um...this movie was made BEFORE Obama, and I'm guessing written in the very early years of the Bush administration. I believe they meant to address worldwide politics, not just American stuff.

  • True, but George Bush was still a twat though.

  • @alphabetgreen1996 Indeed he was. And like switching of power in this film - the new guy ain't doing so hot right now, either. And I voted for him. (Forehead slap)

  • "That guy" is one of the most talented actors ever, his names is Ralph Fiennes!!

  • doesn't that guy plays Voldemort in Harry Potter..?

  • One of the best films of that year. Donald Sutherland deserved an Oscar for his brilliant performance.

  • Anyone else notice how incredibly similar they made the movies' dictator to Kim Jong-il of North Korea? Thanks for uploading this film BerriesBaby.

  • Yea thats true, also if you notice there are a lot of parallels in this movie to other dictators who proved worse than their predecessors.

  • Ha ha, yeah I guess we all see what we want to see, that's what makes it art.

  • i mean guillotine!

  • *LOL* commuted theyre sentences and sent them to the gallows instead!

  • Someone should upload the White Countess.

Thank you for uploading this movie though! :3

  • None129, that's a fantastic idea! I'll get on that very soon

  • ^-^ Thank you very much! It would be greatly appriciated!

  • @None129 ralph fienes was blind at that one : /

  • "defender of the constitution" lol, yes that would be Bush Jr. who said the constitution is just a piece of paper. welcome to the gator nation.

  • USA is not a free and just country. The American people are blind and dellusional.

Americans are brainwashed by their media and government. I wonder how much oppression they will continue to bear until they realize they are slaves to the fascist criminals of the world. Maybe when they are gassed and put under cages then they might wake up from their dellusion of freedom.

  • ....yea because anyone who is proud of the good their country has done is blind and dillusional. It is a rather just country and rather free compared to other places, and to group a bunch of people into that category is rather unintelligent of you, onegodus.

  • Dillusional?

Pickle-insantiy? LEARN TO SPELL!! LEARN IT!! LEARN ITTT!!!

  • you're pretty hilarious

  • youre an idiot

  • excellent thanks

  • Yeah I agree bout the catatonic state thing. I would say his character is representative of the multitudes that did not survive repressive regimes. The ongoing violation thing. The fact that although physically he is sound, the mind is broken and the oppression continues long after the regime falls...a kind of ongoing torture that bleeds into the next generation. WHEW heavy stuff but oh so good! Cheers BerriesBaby!

  • I saw him in New York in The Faith Healer where he was onstage alone for an hour and a half. Met him at the stage door and he couldn't have been nicer. I'm going to try and upload EP 4 u in a few days, my cousin needed to borrow my laptop. (Always good to meet a fellow Fiennes fan!) I always figured the end with Room 12 just showed that he was losing his mind and after they didn't release him from prison when Thorne was killed it just sent him over the edge into like a catatonic state

  • Oh Yeah what's your take on the ending of L of the Blind?

  • Man, I just wanna say thanks. How long did that take to upload!. Don't suppose you got any other Fiennes films under your sleeve man? Like The english patient or Chromophobia

  • OMG I would KILL for Chromophobia. I have most of his films, the one I really want to upload is "The Chumscrubber." I'd be happy to upload The English Patient, but it may take a while

  • Yeah, Chumscrubber would be great to have man! (even though I've seen it). Yeah and I'd eat my undies to have Chromophobia! If only eh?. Saw him in London onstage at God of Carnage he was awesome! Man his voice is loud and strong onstage!. How much patients you got to upload The Eng Patient? Otherwise don't worry bout it mate and thanks again for the Land of the Blind!

  • please upload the english patient :)
