Well, I was very happy that the Democratic House did what they set out to do with the stem cell/minimum wage/ethics/etc. agenda. One question though, are the Republicans and the Democrats the only choices you guys could have? Can't you vote for an independent candidate or ask for a third party when both those parties prove to be corrupted?
There have been third party candidates in the past, such as Ralph Nadar, and they haven't done very well. They tend to pull more votes from the Democatic candidates. It would take a very strong person to win as an independent.
Yes I remember Nadar and you are right, all he did was mess up the election. There should be a way though. A group of smart, independent people who aren't hungry for power and won't lie to the American people to take their money and bomb other countries. These people should come together and create a new party. Heck, I'm in Canada but if that ever happened I'll help their campaign.
It may be time for a third party, but it would have to be lead by someone strong and honest. I'm a fan of Wes Clark, but I'm sure he'll try for a Democratic nomination if he runs...
It warms my heart to watch this video not only because the speaker has so many intelligent things to say but also because he shows the willingness to do something about it. I pray to God that there are more Americans like him, that the Christian Right would realize they too have a choice and that they shouldn't let these people soil their image and abuse their votes. Nobody is tied to a party indefinitely; if you feel deceived and your values sullied, fight back. The vote is still in your hands.

I will say you have a touch of class. I believe you to be an Good, Honest American man. But I still think you voted for bush, and that scares me, and anyone that did that scares me. Face it, Bush supporters fucked this nation. They fucked themselves and everyone in it. Social security, pensions, its all been screwed because of that bastard. Leave religion out of the poles. The day of close Presidential elections are over. In 2008 one of the party's will win an absolute majority. The so-called liberal conservative vote will be split. I'll come back to this comment 2009 to see if I nailed it.

Well, I was very happy that the Democratic House did what they set out to do with the stem cell/minimum wage/ethics/etc. agenda. But I agree that the Senate, side from Kennedy and Feingold, need to really grow some and stand out strong. At least some Republicans are starting to oppose the president, though.

A pity that they repeatedly told people pre-election that they weren't going to do such a thing. Now if they do, it could be used against them. Don't know how well that would play, though, since the people gave Dems the majority to governorships, state legislatures, and Congress for a reason.

I talked with my son who was a teenager at the time about Bill Clinton's deeds with Rowanda, Somalia, Monica, Bosnia, and the USS Cole; it was my attempt as a father to raise my son to be an independent critical thinker with a heart for the Lord. Today my son is age 25; he warns me of the danger of the likes of GW Bush! It's one thing to know of the Truth but it's another to possess the Truth! I'm a Christian, but not a Bush robot. If anyone truely believes these guys in Congress are real chirstians, Christ like, you are lost. The teaching of Christ are pure and loving, not full of war. You have no love for Iraq or Bin Laden, and Jesus taught to love your enemy. People who make it to Bush's level or congress don;t get there by being "Christ Like". There have been third party candidates in the past, such as Ralph Nadar, and they haven't done very well. They tend to pull more votes from the Democatic candidates. It would take a very strong person to win as an independent.

A group of smart, independent people who aren't hungry for power and won't lie to the American people to take their money and bomb other countries. These people should come together and create a new party. Heck, I'm in Canada but if that ever happened I'll help their campaign.

It warms my heart to watch this video not only because the speaker has so many intelligent things to say but also because he shows the willingness to do something about it. I pray to God that there are more Americans like him, that the Christian Right would realize they too have a choice and that they shouldn't let these people soil their image and abuse their votes. Nobody is tied to a party indefinitely; if you feel deceived and your values sullied, fight back. The vote is still in your hands.

I think you mistake the Christian fundamentalists for the majority of Americans. There is a bell curve of intelligence in the US, just like the rest of the world. We are not necessarily as brainwashed as you think. Machismo is much more a factor in the war on terror than religion, in my opinion.

Historically, Christianity has flourished when it shares or influences the politics of a country. Consider Catholicism - it became hugely powerful under the Royal houses of Europe in the Middle Ages. It merely 'slept' through the tyrannies of the 1930s and 1040s, whereas it's power-base is eroded in times of peace under democracies. >>>

If you're looking to Christians to prevent the creeping totalitarianism in the US, you may be wasting your time.
You draw a parallel between Monarchy and the worst-case scenario for future US government, but this ideology looks more like Fascism. That aside, it's worth remembering that virtually all previous kings (of which us here in Europe have had our fair share of) are seated on the shoulders of religion, an so it suits both parties just fine. >>>>
