In the ending, when you finally kill the last colossus, you find out that Dormin has been using you to reincarnate all of his split parts into one body, one being. You brought him together. That's why you have horns at the end. When they are killing you, if I remember correctly, you don't completely die as Dormin is keeping your.
(Con.) bodily form alive with his darkness/demon...stuff, and you turn into Dormin himself afterwards. Then, they do that spell to take Dormin back where he belongs, it appears as if the darkness is kind of slipping off of you, yet you are beginning to be pulled in as well. You're still reaching out for Mono too, it's very sad. Anyways, you are pulled in, and afterwards, Mono wakes up, completely unaware that you, Wander, just did tons of crap to save her life. She finds a new born baby. You.

But I remember the first time I saw the ending...I was up at about 3 in the morning, there was thunder and lightning outside, a quiet rain against the pavement...my T.V screen was the only light in my whole house. It was a very epic fight against Malus, and...well, the ending was heart-breaking. Anyways, enough of my memories. No problem. =)

They were perfectly peaceful, amazing creatures, and you kill them to save some girl you love. So this act that seems so noble is actually quite selfish on wander's part, not that he's a "bad" person. It's a true work of art. It's inspiring us by telling us how powerful love can be, but also warning us that that power can makes us do horrible things, even if we don't realise it

Sometimes i think, mabey Wander loved Mono, but she didnt know he loved her. Because you know when she woke up she didnt seem surprised at all to see agro, you would assume she would know her lovers trusty steed.

I don't know about that, really. It takes a certain strength to let go, and an ethical blank check is the most dangerous thing in the world. The actions you describe is no longer about love. It's about control. It's about not wanting to face reality and your own circumstances and forcing others to bear a much greater burden rather than facing your own burdens. At that point it's no longer really about her, she's dead, she wouldn't be able to care either way. it's just a selfish act

Also you could argue it takes a same strength to hold on, honestly I think it depends on the situation, and some would say having a "blank check" is actually quite easy; what do you say to the people who love someone for years, and let's say they do "move on" but never, ever find anyone else. Your only taking into consideration one side of the coin, you could take the story as an act of the pure form of selflessness.

Are you kidding? Wander doesn't die, he is turned into a baby by Dormin, and how the hell do you think mono is the queen in Ico? This game takes place more than a thousand years before that.
Basically, this game ends up with Mono, Wander and even Agro still alive. I'd say that's a pretty nice ending.
That game really is the best I've played in my life :),is the only one that has caused me to continue with its history,and this soundtrack reminds me :(°°°
I'll admit, I managed to hold it in during the collapsing bridge scene. I got shivers when Emon and his men crossed the giant bridge. My heart was in my throat when the camera switched to Wander's point of view as he stumbled towards Mono, but I managed to hold myself together. Until this song kicked in. Then I totally lost it and cried harder than I had in years.

Beat the game on all four modes (normal/hard & game/time attack). Then climb the outside of the temple to the secret garden at the ends of the world. The 17th colossus will appear in a short cutscene like the others, busting through the rear wall. After you fight him, the path to the very top of the temple will be opened, leading to a surprise.

@Exarian thats called a sense of justice(that or a hero complex from watching too much tv), its something you get when you grow up in this society and have average intellegence, I wont go into this with you because obviously we are very far apart in terms of "values" but just know that everyone is different and your way is not the only or "RIGHT" way.

I was always worried sick that the stone pillar over her would fall down. I don't know why, i just always checked if it was steady the whole time.

Are you kidding? Wander doesn't die, he is turned into a baby by Dormin, and how the hell do you think mono is the queen in Ico? This game takes place more than a thousand years before that.
Basically, this game ends up with Mono, Wander and even Agro still alive. I'd say that's a pretty nice ending.

I'll admit, I managed to hold it in during the collapsing bridge scene. I got shivers when Emon and his men crossed the giant bridge. My heart was in my throat when the camera switched to Wander's point of view as he stumbled towards Mono, but I managed to hold myself together. Until this song kicked in. Then I totally lost it and cried harder than I had in years.
Beautiful game, this is. I love it more than I can describe.

Beat the game on all four modes (normal/hard & game/time attack). Then climb the outside of the temple to the secret garden at the ends of the world. The 17th colossus will appear in a short cutscene like the others, busting through the rear wall. After you fight him, the path to the very top of the temple will be opened, leading to a surprise.
