@GreatScottPilgrimage I've seen bits and pieces of some of them. I've been meaning to get around to getting them as they are quite good. There's a good interview with him that just came out on (I think it was) ifanboy.com talking about his new show with his buddies and how it's liberating to do more than just make movies.

I think his humor comes across so well is because it's so raw/honest.

@alekesam Yeah, he's just such a cool character. I have to admit, I adore the man and his movies. Cop Out was a bit shit, that's a given, but his all of his others are close to my heart. Even Jersey Girl isn't as bad as people make out, really. It's just not as good as his others. The Q+A or stand-up, whatever you wanna call them, dvds really are worth having. Their as good as any stand-up performance in my book. Like you say, he's raw and honest, so laid back.

@alekesam Jay and Silent Bob and a few more swear words were all that was missing from Jersey Girl, other than that it pretty much sits well with the others. They all have lots of heart in them, even J&SB Strike Back. I think it got so much flak because of the press Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were having (or maybe giving themselves) at the time and the whole Gigli didn't help either which is unfair considering it's not Gigli and that Lopez is hardly in it anyway. Have you seen Red State?

what an annoying question. seriously. who asks if the writer will add more gay characters. or if he has more gay stories or whatever. im not against gays what so ever. i have gay friends and we talk about movies and comic books and even porn together. so dont call me prejudice. thats like asking, "hey you had some black and asian characters in a movie, are u gonna put more black and asian characters in another movie?" if the story needs a gay character, then there will be one or if it adds to it

It's kind of annoying when people think that you can just write-in a character. If the character's action and/or persona don't add anything to the plot/atmosphere then they shouldn't be there and it's bad to wedge them in. I'm aware that she wasn't asking him to do that but asking a writer/director when they'll write more gay characters or any niche characters seems like it should always be met with the same answer: "When the story needs one."
