i believe this was a design that relied upon constant air presure either supplied from a pump, or from a battery pack. at least with the hoses.

@toxicgas226 It is safe to breathe through as long as the cotton seal that stops the charcoal dust from being breathed in isnt broken, but it wont do much on the side of protecting you from a gas attack, it might help if your in abit of a smokey or dusty enviroment but i would definetly advise getting a new modern filter

The only thing that I don't understand about gas mask is how the exhaust or exhale and voice amplifier part works because if it's just a metal/plastic plastic plate with holes in it how does it not let the bad air in? And in exhale parts like the Finnish one has I don't want to open it up and I can't see how it works.
