Elvis Presley is only the King of the Copycats! Nothing more nothing less... But I prefer the real talents...Bo Diddley, Esquerita, Chuck Berry and the recordings of Elvis I throw away years ago.it's rubbish.
@jt123egypte ouf... i would never say it was rubbish... elvis made way for a whole new generation of musicians. he did cover a lot of songs... but he did them his own way. and since he had the chance of being white and having coverage, it gave us the oppurtonity to know about chuck berry and others. there are a lot of original elvis songs that are my fave rockabilly songs as well. whoever says that elvis has no talent, has no clue what they're talking about IMO.
Mind my remarks...Elvis was the king of the copycats! In his kind the best...but I never found something new in his music besides his being white.Idoný mind the colour of a singer...I am interested in the music. Bo was original...Chuck was... Esquerita was... Elvis? Hm... I have heared alle the covers and I am not interested in his music.
@jt123egypte do you really think he only covered or what? he had a bunch of original songs... they just werent the popular ones... get off the best of's and greatest hits and look a bit further. no one swung the rock like him in the day... before elvis rock n roll was a straight beat all the time... elvis made it so you could swing to it.
@jt123egypte chuck ripped off his own pianist and you dont hear anyone complain about that... ever watched hail hail rock n roll? the ever popular riff for johnny b good was a riff his pianist came out with and chuck used it in what... 10 diffrent songs to start it with... same for "no particular place to go" and "school days"... its the same god dam song with diffrent lyrics... i still love the guy tho but he was far from original.
@0coincidences Chuck Berry was "far from original"? Who wrote songs that chronicled teenagers' lives before him? He was the first poet of Rock'n'Roll, ask Bob Dylan or Lou Reed, The Stones or Lennon (if he was alive..). He got some riffs from Johnnie Johnson... so what? That's how a band works, and Berry invented R&R guitar. His songs aren't all the same: that "similarity" is called STYLE... not too mention Chuck's attitude, stage presence, the duck-walk, etc.. without Berry R&R wouldn't exist!
The real talents are...the people we recognize with a few tones. If Bo plays a few tones or Elmore James or Jimmy Hendrikx we know who are playing. That is real talent.Ofcourse I know the stories of Chuck,, but be honest.... that music of Chuck was responsible for most music we call now Rock and Roll, wasn't it Lennon who said that if Rock and Roll should have a name it would be Chuck Berry?
@RocknPak elvis had flare, personality, good looks and a classy attitude... thats what got the whole big craze... he is the king meaning no one will ever be as highly looked upon in the medias when it comes to rock n roll. watch the documentary "hail hail rock n roll" theres a few parts where you see bo diddley, chuck berry and little richard speaking like they were stolen everything, which in a way is true, but the white boys made it their own and rocked it just as good! =)
@BabylonGenocide149 black people in music were getting a lot of recognition since the late 20's blues... i know what your mean and i would say ur half right... they did take a lot from the black people but the title wasnt even given to elvis during the 50's. in my opinion he just had it all PLUS he was white.
@pgh45rpms no prob... was gonna upload pretty thing and figured i might as well give a quick check to what else i could upload of the cd i had in... four of my favorite tracks werent on here so i did something about it... hehehe

@0coincidences dont forget he was white. They werent going to crown a black man king over a white man, not in the 1950s.
