  • why do people use right handed reels when they are used to using left handed?

  • Must I stop the spool from spinning totally by applying tons of pressure to stop it or do I just slow it down by gently applying minimal pressure on it? Won't the lure drop violently if I stop the spool from spinning totally?

  • @TMarcusify as soon as the lure touches the water stop it with enough pressure to stop it

  • What is the difference between a baitcaster and a spinning? besides the reel...

  • @ReachTheHollow

The difference between the casting and spinning are the all equipment.

Casting: the rods are smaller a lot and have a faster action, the line are can be more thick as spinning.

    Roughly that's it.

Sry for grammar, that isnt my language.

  • @ReachTheHollow spelling

  • @ReachTheHollow The speed you can throw, reel, and fuck up your line.... i bought a bait caster and cant refund the fucking thing so now Im fucked...... for a year XD

  • @bulldude8796 u cant get mad. just take your time and have confidence. i sucked when i first but now im pretty good. and you will just keep getting better

  • this is a waist of time and web space

  • I haven't used an open "spinner" Reel since the first day I picked up a Bait Caster. The best Reel for acuracy and flipping. Just learn how to do it. Like he said in the Video...use more brakes and tension until you get the hang of it. Man, I can't believe all the whinners in here. Just go out and practice if you want to fish with the big boys!

  • Hey BENY247365: Now that has to be the absolute worse advice I'v e seen in my lifetime! There are several advantages one gets from the Bait Casting Reel. Here's one...try "flipping" a Zara Spook, or any top water, under a low hanging Tree Branch, or under a Dock with a spinner! The casting accuracy alone of the Bait Caster puts all arguements to rest! Why do you think all Pro Bassers use Bait Casters? Dude, why don't you take your petty crying elsewhere? Bye!

  • @bassimmage Ok jackass i'll try to answer your points as best as i can

low hanging tree branches/docks: we don't have those things in the middle of the ocean, Where i live people don't go fishing in rain forests

casting accuracy: the main thing you aim for is the water were the fish are, you don't get medals if you hit a fish on the head with a lure and knock it out

Pro bassers using B/casters: I have no idea why and I don't think it really matters

happy? or are you gonna have another sook

  • @BENY247365 ive got a question, if you hate baitcasters so much why are you on a video trying to figure out how to cast them???

  • @NGUdOlLoFf WTF man i don't hate baitcasters and i know how to use them, i just prefer spin gear. Is that so hard to understand? What i hate is dumb cunts like you crying over something as stupid as a youtube comment that was left as a joke.

  • my thumb is now educated

  • or you can do what i did and just backlash the thing like 100 times first then know how to cast, and now 3 years later i find videos like this.

  • How to cast a bait caster: step 1 pick up the bait caster rod and throw it in the water or take it back for a refund just get rid of the piece of shit. step 2 get a spinning rod and reel so you can fish with ease

  • @BENY247365 why you mad bro?

  • @goatkiller68 What makes you think I'm mad bro? The comment was ment to be like a joke for people that arent fans of baitcasters. This may come as a surprise but I actually know how to use a baitcaster, I just prefer spin rods/reels.

  • @BENY247365 hahaha. i thought you were serious. your right though. spinning reels are easier

  • @goatkiller68 Correct. Spin gear is easier to use & maintain, is a better all purpose option, can handle bigger fish then a baitcaster will, etc. Fishing is ment to be relaxing, easy, etc. I don't wanna over complicate it with a baitcaster

  • @BENY247365 LOL Thats wat i say

  • @superdonkeymafia36 Haha, good on ya!!

  • @BENY247365 I agree with your frustration with baitcasting reels. I am still learning to use mine, but getting better every day.. The casting and reeling is so much smoother than a spinning reel once you get it down though. It takes a lot of practice to learn how to use a baitcasting reel. Keep practicing and you will get it.. or you can give up and go back to the spinning reel. Whatever floats your boat.. No pun intended :)

  • @DerickMc84 Dude I know how to use baitcast reels, I'm not the best but i'm also not the worst, I just much prefer spin gear cause i think it suits my fishing style better and is a better choice for handling an unexpected/bigger fish that you might run into. The comment was ment to be like a little bit of a joke so please don't take it too seriously

  • holy shit i watched all of these fucking videos on "casting a bait caster" and this is so fucking conveluted i walked away with more questions than no answers

  • not a bad tutorial

  • my thumb is now educated :-)

  • @FishingAddict1 Haha i know right! I wonder how many times he said "Thumb" in that video.

  • Alright, all you northern anglers listen.....There is a reason why spinning reels are also known as "Yankee Reels".

  • At 1:43, he throws it so high it ripped off and started flying

  • i asked my dad if u could get one, he said there really difficult, i picked his up and practiced, now i got it mastered i love my quantum

  • some key tips with a baitcaster not mentioned here - 1. (most important) is spend the money on a baitcaster, or you'll never learn to use one, don't go buy a 30 or 40 dollar combo from wally world, spend at least 50 on a reel alone (the abu garcia black maxx is a decent reel for the money) 2. line is very important, heavier lines are easier to manage with a baitcaster for learning purposes, my favorite for managability is trilene xl 14lb mono clear 3. don't be scared

  • weird. After buying one for the first time, I'm starting to value the reel more than the line no matter how expensive the line is. lol

  • @dookiekong007 good. thats how it should be

  • wow i just got one and after a few casts it tangled, and i wish i would have watched this before i went out -.-

  • that was one of the worst backlast i have ever seen

  • i got one the other day. if you learn everything about it, then it will be very easy to adjust to your ability

  • The more I use my bait caster, the more I appreciate my spinning outfits.

  • Why do all the comment sections of videos on youtube have to turn in to a bunch of arguing, threats, and profanity??? Seriously, watch the video, absorb the knowledge, if you disagree with it, move onto another video.

  • my spool cap fell off does any1 know if thats gona be a really big problem?

  • spinning reels are so much better

  • @MarbledCheese better for some fishing, but a baitcaster is better in a lot of situations.

  • but thats not to anything to do with casting tho thats just to get to grips with how to control the spool with you thumb. also you cant do the when you have a trace on as the swivle on the trace gets jamed in the to eye. ive now worked out how to get round this problem lol..

  • on all the vids ive seen on how to cast a baitcaster reel nothing is sed about how far from the rod tip you have your plug crankbait spoon spinner spinner bait and so on because this must make a difference to how well you cast out the bait or dose this not matter at all ?????????????????????????????????

  • @stimo999

@ 1:11 he says to bring the bait to the tip of the rod...

  • the most important is to educate your thumb. :)

  • do i spot a falcon?

  • These are soo much better than spinning rods. Been using these since i was like 10. The hook set on the fish is effortless. If you do not have one of these set ups i highly reconmend it.

  • i jus got the abu garcia revo today first reel and i love it is so easy

  • were u on marko izumae fishing show on the 4th of july

  • @vincebalago1 thumbs up!!! just kidding dick on wheels. This just told u everything u need 2 know about actually learning how to cast a baitcaster.

  • @pelletgun12 i dont really care bitch.

  • @vincebalago1 dont get your tampon in a knot pussy.

  • @pelletgun12 suck a dick cock sucker.

  • @vincebalago1 whoa man i am so offended. And whats with you and talking about cocks so much for

  • @pelletgun12 fuck u mother fucker

  • @vincebalago1 The only mother im fucking is yours.

  • @vincebalago1 i dont have a mother or a dad loser.

  • how come when i press the button the line doesnt move unless i kind of twitch it

  • @pinoybro09 because ur drag the (the 5star thing next to handle on reel) is to tight. loosen it up then try again hope it works

  • @Tarokozo thx

  • my spinning real just broke so i now have to figure out how to use a baitcaster it only took my about 2 hours before i mastered it.

  • just got one today i need major tips

  • Helpful little video.

  • have a bait casting reel never used it coz i dont know how. with this video now i know thanks

  • i have a bait casting reel and i love it that is all i use they are better i think. Plus i do alot of saltwater fishing for seabass and shark and batray's. This video will teach you how to use a bait casting reel the right way. I taught my self how to use a bait casting reel with a lot of birdsnest but now i'm like zorro with a bait casting.

  • just got one today and realized how complicated they really are.

  • same here. i really love how nice and smooth it casts, but i'm used to just whipping a lure with my spinning reel.

  • Sure its complicated.. what i do i like to apply little pressure on the line when casting. so it does not suddenly back-lash..

  • yeah, i was practicing yesterday in my pond. i think i got it down pretty well now. thanks for the tip though! good luck fishing this year!

  • @Tarzan07330 Ha Usually i do big game fishing haha!

    Good Luck on the water!

  • haha. well big game in my area is anything over 10lbs. lol

  • Haha my big game is around 30lbs..

  • @sindude300 nice. what do you normally catch? this summer i'm gonna go for some musky. my room mate lives by a lake that he said holds the record for largest musky or largest musky on average caught. so i'm gonna keep my fingers crossed. lol

  • @Sindude300 Ususlly i catch big snook.. Goliath grouper. haha small.. Yea but now i stop my sea fishing for awhile and going for bass haha! i love musky and pike :D

  • @sindude300 dude! i wanna go fishing in the ocean on a boat! i've been fishing off the shore and in a freakin canoe for bone fish in the flats in the keys, but that's it. i wanna go for some rooster fish, hogfish, grouper, marlin...i wanna catch every fish i can!!!

  • @TAezan07330 Haha! Try going to the market? they might have all types of fished xD bring your rod.. set it up. and one the fish of your choice.. it would be epic if you did that haha

  • @sindude300 hahaha! yeah, i'd get some looks. and they might escort me outta there in cuffs too. lol. i should just go to walmart and start asking how good a certain rod works. then say i wanna test it out and hook up a lure or something and go snag myself a slab of salmon in the frozen food section. lol

  • @taezan07330 OH OH OH!! don forget to hokk some annoying walmart employees with big treble hooks!! make sure to use a boat rod too! at least 500lbs test :D

  • @tarzan07330 HAHa did you noticed i did "@sindude300" on my own post hah! its priceless

  • @sindude300 hahaha. yeah. i'm sure they'll really appreciate that. lol

  • @Tarzan07330 Haha They sure will :D

  • @TupidHead2 same here

  • @TupidHead2 i have gone threw atleast 6 rolls of line because some birdsnests arent able to be tooken out

  • @darknessfalls714 tooken?

  • @hanserclimbs sorry *taken

  • @TupidHead2 just practice by putting some weights without a hook and cast in a yard or even a pool

  • @TupidHead2 what kind my fav one is shakesphere exterra baitcaster reel easy to tune and killer on the water

  • @reptifreak99 I use the same rod. Great results with it too.

  • @TupidHead2 Tell me about it! I feel like an un-coordinated oaf! Haha I think I may have too light of a lure on.. I have been working a small/medium jig head with a tube around it. I can't cast it further than probably 15 feet, and it's backlashing before it even hits the water! I see your comment is 1 year old - maybe give me some tips?

  • @iSamPk You can adjust the braking system on most bait casting reels allowing you to change the speed the reel feeds out.
