Living here Maine is for the young and the old. Few in between most go to college find that it is a lot better and they don't come back. That is what happens a lot around here.

Why do foreigners and losers in California think the only good places to go to the beach are California, Florida, and Hawaii. Yes, their beaches are nice all year round, but coasts don't have to have 80 degrees water, yes, Maine's waters are chilly, but it's nice to relax and read a book while looking at the nice blue water.

Wow based on some of your comments, you guys obviously haven't lived in other states. If you think everyone in Maine does drugs try going to Florida, or California. In California probably 50% of the population is on Meth at any given time. Also who cares if the water is cold, its still nice to lay out on the sand when its hot with some friends, maybe drink a beer or take a nap.

@chris1234p I just wanted to add, Kentucky seems to have a big drug problem as well. Again its methlabs. I read about them all the time. What cracks me up, is where I live the city has a ton of churches, yet we still have a methlab problem here.

Spring,summer warm plenty of waterfront,fairs ,outings ! Winter snow ,church events,holidays festivities. Seniors housing , all expenses affordable , social services available , trains etc. People friendly, considerate ! But you have to be able to handle the winters or become a snow bird !

yes, the beaches are within 15 min, but she failed to inform us that you can get in the water in the middle of summer and freeze your balls off in 5 min
