Its only 101k in the US, where as most European cars are in the 200-300k range. @brazzr the spool of the turbo has nothing to do with the engine size. I has to do with the Turbos and Watesgates. The larger the turbos the longer it takes to spool. High powered V-8 Single turbo will use larger applications cause they have torque. 4cyclinders run smaller turbos cause they have no torque so they need faster spool for earlier power. Hope this helps you understand the difference.

it's not only about power, your granny can drive a Veyron over 400 km/h. Europeans could do these kind of plastic cars if we wanted, but we want more than just power. We want performance and luxury. PS. Veyron SS is the fastest production car a round top gear track, beating Gumbert, ZR1 etc.
In the late 1990's early 2000's Viper beat Ferarri at Lemans and at most Viper Ferarri meet's again demolished Ferarri, a future classic tha will be remembered for its brute force and bargain price compared to Ferarri,Lambo,etc.
The LeMans racing officials banned the Viper from racing anymore because they said it had an unfair advantage over other cars. I say "so what", they should make THEIR cars to catch up with the GTSR, not ban it cause it won too much as they said. Well good for the Viper then, it had a great team of people on it and they got it done.
Not to be a dick but none of these cars serve any legit purpose. Around a track, they are heavier, and they also have horrendously terrible powerbands that are non-linear. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if a regular ACR was faster than this car around a track. You can give the car 5000hp for all I care....doesn't mean it's faster if you just put it into a wall.
That's insane. HPE is a great company...they make great fast cars but they're not like most tuning companies...they don't just simply bolt on a couple turbos to their vehicles and call it a day, they actually thoroughly go through each of their vehicles to add the HPE touch without destroying the original point of the vehicle or its OEM settings.
This car goes up against the bugatti veyron and people are bitching about the price? ANYTHING under 1 million dollars with this kind of level in performance is a GREAT deal!!

American cars aren't as refined, but that is exactly what the people who love them like. (outside the interior) They are drivers' cars and they still are within reach of much of the middle class. The Ferrari Enzo is a beautiful car, but it can't even outperform these two at the ring and porsche is even 4 seconds behind them. hennessey is weird and overdone
@Chopin742 Meh, that's true, but I could turn around and say you could build an Ultima GTR for less than both of them and beat both of them badly. Budget really isn't much to consider when you are talking about 100K cars. The 599GTO is faster than the Enzo, but at the same time, it's a lot more expensive. I'd say the ACR is a driver's car. Not so sure about the ZR1 since it's SCed and you can't adjust the suspension like you can with the ACR.

Not to be a dick but none of these cars serve any legit purpose. Around a track, they are heavier, and they also have horrendously terrible powerbands that are non-linear. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if a regular ACR was faster than this car around a track. You can give the car 5000hp for all I care....doesn't mean it's faster if you just put it into a wall.

That's insane. HPE is a great company...they make great fast cars but they're not like most tuning companies...they don't just simply bolt on a couple turbos to their vehicles and call it a day, they actually thoroughly go through each of their vehicles to add the HPE touch without destroying the original point of the vehicle or its OEM settings.

as much as whole heartedly agree. unfortunately the gt40 was in conjunction with the Brits and the newer gt was with the Brits and the Germans lol. that being said its still our power plant from a 15000 dolor truck lol that koenigsegg uses as well. and we have countless other vehicles that have set records over there including the acr, zr1,cts-v,saleen s7,c5r and c6r,mosler, etc so i agree if we stepped up our interior quality id say watch out Europe but that's what makes them affordable.

very VERY VERY true my friend... the only good thing about american cars are their mental torque engines which are incredibly light... because their alluminium. how ever mate one of them 7L alluminum to a jap car and you could take out any european cars. Thats truth.

The Viper won the 24 hours of le mans three years in a row and nothing with a trunk and rear window comes close to its performanceNothing can compete with it because everything else is just a rear engine (4 wheel drive) model slightly better than the last car that looked almost the same.2010 is its last year and so the test will be its replacement.The viper is a legend sr-8 a footnote

@Chopin742 I honestly don't understand a single thing you just said outside of the Le mans part. The rest of it makes absolutely no sense. As a side note, The Le Mans cars are naturally aspirated for a reason.....which is why I said this car sucks because it's turboed and has a non-linear powerband....and also probably weighs at least 1000lbs more.

@Chopin742 Ferrari's are exclusive, but they have by far a more technological refinement to them. Like I said, I'd bet my ballsack that the 599GTO would smoke this Viper on a real track. It's not all about how much power a car has. If it was, then an NHRA funny car would have the lap record at Nurburgring.

@frambesbuckeye The Viper ACR did the nurburg ring in about 7:22.1 and the ZR-1 was 7:26.4 last year and is 7:24.4 this year. American cars aren't as refined, but that is exactly what the people who love them like. (outside the interior) They are drivers' cars and they still are within reach of much of the middle class. The Ferrari Enzo is a beautiful car, but it can't even outperform these two at the ring and porsche is even 4 seconds behind them. hennessey is weird and overdone

@Chopin742 Meh, that's true, but I could turn around and say you could build an Ultima GTR for less than both of them and beat both of them badly. Budget really isn't much to consider when you are talking about 100K cars. The 599GTO is faster than the Enzo, but at the same time, it's a lot more expensive. I'd say the ACR is a driver's car. Not so sure about the ZR1 since it's SCed and you can't adjust the suspension like you can with the ACR.
