Born this way...what a bunch of crap. The kids parents mst know the way of correct practice. You know, perfect practice makes perfect technique. Its all work, no talent.
@MrRuggo i will quote the the great Steve Vai said you cant learn to be a genius you can only be a witness to it , hes 13 when hes 20 he may love rap lol
@ronnysessum Well, technique isnt everything. Anton has the skills needed to be a virtuoso. If he has the mind to compose great music, well, we shall hear :) I was focusing my comment purely on technique and with correct practicing and dedication , everyone can acuire great technique.
@MrRuggo I personally think he has an amazing ability to compose, well beyond most kids (and adults lol). check out his original song... i can't think of the name but its on youtube. its a really great song
Woot, before I used to think this kid was just really good, but now I know he is amazing, because no one else in the world can play Paganini's 16th caprice so quickly and efficently without any finger or hybrid picking
JEZUZ!!.. I QUIT.. you little bastard!!!!! die die, sob sob sniff..it's fake that's what it is..it cant be real .. OK, I'm in shock this kid is beyond amazing , such ability and maturity.Do an album Anton I'll buy it.If he has one someone let me know
@dwsabianguy i agree. did you see the way everyone erupted when he finished? i have a feeling he has that happen all the time. i mean i agree...it's flip-out worthy, but i just hope he doesn't become the Lindsay Lohan of guitars...
Wish I could still play close to this. Thanks to this damn disease destroying my joints. Great playing man. I hate the sound of Bogners though. Too sterile.
@qap614 Yeah, Yngwie play's humbuckers too, I know, I own them too. But they are voiced as single coils. I just think this kid sounds so crazy good, but the tone is crap considering how gorgeous it could sound with a nice set of single coils through that amp. I'm entitled to my opinion, no reason to call me a fool. I'll take his talent too, just not this tone.
This is no kid this is Mr. Anton Oparin to all of us. Mad freakin skills... if you play guitar play this piece he is playing here as flawlessly and as fast as he does. You will not!!! No one especially anyone within 10 years of this kid can touch this level of profieciency. AMAZING TALENT!! An elite group of electric guitar stars,Holdsworth,Lane,Bumblefoot, and Oparin
@qap614 and batio who was already outplaying pretty much everyone at the age of 16 (when he won an award for outstanding Jazz soloist on guitar), read in one of his interviews that he was as fast and technical at the age of 17 as he was in Nitro, that's just insane. Oh and don't forget Guthrie Govan too, he's one of the best alive nowadays.
Yeah and more people eat fast food rather than prepare themselves a healthy nutrtious meal. Ive seen Steve and Eric Johnson and Yngwie all at small venues and they were the best shows one could witness given the fact that you understand and appreciate the dedication to ones craft that these men have given its an honor to stand so close and witness a master craftsman at work and if yoy dont get that aspect of guitar playing what are you watching these videos for?
as much as a miracle that this kid is, and an absolute freak of nature with his talents,...there have been many before him as good as him and sadly after the wow..ooooo ohhhhh factor wears off he will be replaced by someone else...over 10 years ive seen virtuoso kids and after a while you dont hear from them...society would rather hear a simple 3 chord progression rather than a million notes a second....thats why steve vai places night clubs and acdc play stadiums...its the way it works
C'on dudes... take it easy with the little guy.. he is only 13 years old and I deadly doubt anyone could do the same at 13. Also, as any boy, he's imitating his guitar hero. Once he gets mature he will acquire his own style and playing. Its the usual way.
Antons "talent" is the result of nonstop ptactice, at his age the human mind is like a sponge that picks up info quick, Being subjected to shred guitar at such a young age caused him to learn fast.
I have read a couple of the translated Russian stories on him, yes he practiced/practices a lot.
Do you "if I could practice that much I could play like that' types ever consider that he can practice that much, and wants to practice that much because of his natural talent?
By which I mean that it comes easy, and he feels he's making progress at it, so he keeps at it.
Look at failed drummers Satriani and EVH. Drums didn't come to them. But guitar and unrelenting practice did.
When I was younger I used to manage to practice around 4 hrs a day and I was pretty good. The finger excercise and callus buildup makes you progressively better as those components begin to take. Now I'm 57 and don't play pro anymore. My hands are stiff and my callouses are weak..and my playing shows. I'm no longer very technically adept but can still make my guitar sing..I've seen many mechanically great guitarists that had little emotion in their playing.
What no one realizes is, that there are ALOT of people like this kid out there. And he is lucky enough to get exposed. This kid doesn't have some natural born gift, he just plays alot more than other people. I just takes practice people, and you can become great. However, most of us being teenagers or adults, our minds aren't as porous as his is, so we wont be picking up things as quickly as he can, but that is about it. Anyone can become as good as him.
EXACTLY. Not to put down Anton, he's absolutely amazing for a 13 year old. But it *isn't talent*. It's PRACTICE. This kid has probably logged upwards of 8 to 10,000 hours of practice in his life (which is what it takes to become this good). Essentially all he's done with his 13 year old life is play guitar, non-stop. Ask him, he'll tell you that's true, I guarantee it. :)
I bet this kid has practiced this solo for a long time. I wonder how turely able he is to play on the spot. Any one can learn a song or play something that is presented to them. Cool but riffs but, i wonder if he can read music
Well my friend, practice does make perfect. It seems this youngster has done a lot of it. At his age, being able to read music or not, will probably have as much affect on his career as not being able to drive a car. Talent is a gift... , reading music is a skill that can be taught anytime.
Children should play while they are young, and this young man does it very well.
I do agree with you, but, i feel that a guitar is a tool for what the big picture is. The big picture is music. It's not how good of a guitar player you are, its how you can take an emotion and write it down and play it. Any really good musician will tell you that. In this world, it matters how good of show you can put on and how you can make a song that portays the way you feel. Thats why im not a big fan of many super shred guitarist, unless they write the music on manuscript paper and
present it to the band and say, "here...Play this". Guitar is just a tool. He is good, but, for people like me, im not lucky enough to get exposed. I am a guitarist that has no power. I will admit i am very jealous of him. He has get everything set to excede.
This is good conversation. I think i get where you're coming from.
You are totally right in saying the guitar is a tool. Think of it as a paint brush. The finished product has to move you, but doesn't need to be available in a" paint by numbers". B.B. King was once asked if he read .(music), he said "not enough to hurt me any". I don't know of any of my heros who could have written their music out properly. I guess that's why music is a language unto itself.
Yeah, It's all about how you look at things, at one ponit in my life i just wanted to play solos. Just play solos, no back round parts or anything like that. I started talking to a guitarist in my area and he talked to me about these things. 80 percent of the time in a band you will be writing and playing back round parts.
