there will be air pushed infront of the shockwave. i know it sounds like the shockwave itself, but the air has to go somewhere when the air behind it is expanding with the shockwave. its kind of like a small gust of wind before the massive wall of air.

r u sure? the initial effect on the structures (b4 shock) looks like fire from materials from the surface facing the explosion (the flash heated surfaces to 30,000 F). If you watch the one with the bus, it looks like the paint burns off, and the inside view, it looks like the window blinds ignite.

i think thats the radiation and the sheer amount of light hitting the surface facing the explosion. they would both get their first as they are both forms of light, then the shockwave thing which i was going on about would cause the dust to move slightly before the shockwave hits the object. could be wrong though.
