The reason the names are Romeo and Juliet is because it fits into the iambic pentameter, same with mercutio or benvolio who are also characters.

I feel like that shouldn't work with something from Shakespeare. I mean.. he's known for iambic pentameter... if you change the names around that would just mess everything up! Sorry, I'm a stickler for that kind of thing. It's a good idea for the other classic novels... just not so much Shakespeare.
