The first bible printed in English in America was printed by the US congress in 1782 as shown in US records, Congress wrote," This bible is a neat addition to the holy scripture for the use of our schools." And I'm sure there were math books available "for the use of our schools" but that doesn't mean our constitution was based on math!!! I have a bible on display in my storage room if you're here. @ddfrankdd That quote was from a memorial written by Robert Aiten to Congress not the other way around. This is from Barton's Wallbuilders website:
On January 21, 1781, Robert Aitken presented a "memorial" [petition] to Congress offering to print "a neat Edition of the Holy Scriptures for the use of schools."

ON and ON FREEDOM is NOT free, neither is the practice or speech of your faith, God said and knows this, Christians were imprisoned because of their faith and the day, God knew, will come again if for not war. If we let the oppressors get bigger they will invade, as they already are, and we will become the oppressed. Jesus is a Socialist. He would DEMAND that we have Universal Health Care, for example, AND for those accumulating wealth to give up ALL their worldly goods for the benefit of others. He would NEVER allow anyone to go to WAR, or to torture. He would recognize that most social systems have "leaders" and those leaders are NOT to put themselves ABOVE the citizens, but to SERVE the citizens. This means wealthy people are to SERVE those who work daily to serve them so they can be in those positions.

November elections are almost here. Remember Christians, we should never vote for someone that supports abortion. How can we claim to love God and be complicit in the killing of his children? The Democrat Party Platform proudly supports abortion. Even a pro-life Democrat will never have any clout because of THE PARTY. The Republican Platform is pro-life. A Republican Congress can tie B.O.'s hands. So make your vote count! Also, at least 95% of Independents vote with Dems. God bless America.

I cannot force my Christian beliefs on other people and if women choose to get an abortion (and I am against murder) I cannot force people to do what they do not want to do. @wonone100 - I think Obama, like me, is not someone to have blind faith in the particular dogma of a church or religion that is about greed or fighting wars, conquering or torturing people, etc. Many things done in the name of Jesus are HORRIBLE and NOT what Jesus would approve of!!
Instead, to do as Jesus would do as much as you can. That's what I try to do and that is how I administer what I believe Jesus is all about. Caring about others and the general welfare, compassion, and brotherhood.
