dont worry i have also few words against the shitty viliv- its lack of Webcam, too small to read, type and landyard stylus looks cheap and less hard drive space options, usb has low power which doesn't support most devices like camera, ipods, and its damn too heavy and it dont even fit in pocket, no 3g- here is new Viliv s5 for Douchebag & rednecks

The round thing is for charging the extra battery, it's not a dock. But agree that most people will have a miniUSB cable. Hardly a deal breaker!

its a battery charger. If u have a 2nd battery then u can use it to charge it.

There isnt a dock but I still don't see what you would want to transfer from/to?

It's a full PC and has WiFi so you can network it with another PC. If you wanted to transfer stuff from a WiMo device or a Camera etc. then just use the cable that came with that.
