At least Sydney's harbour bridge has a cycle facility. Here in Auckland, NZ you can't even get onto the bridge unless you are in a car or a bus. I hope you get the cycle way because usually Auckland will follow Sydney's lead with an approximate ten year delay.
I don't know that we'll ever get to a 'flat' Sydney but this would certainly be a very positive step towards getting more people on their bike. Wouldn't it be just lovely to see riders everywhere on the way and back from the CBD at peak hour? I for one would use the Harbourlink at least 3 times a week to go to work. Thanks for this great presentation.
all major cities need an efficient cycling network and Sydney's north shore already has some good infrastructure. HarbourLink will connect this to where all commuters want to go, the City of Sydney.
Premier Nathan Rees used to be a serious competitive cyclist and triathlete. He also commuted by bicycle from the outer western suburbs. So he should be the cyclist's friend.
@Stevemaizuru the politicians were lobbied by car insurence company, petrol compant etc to discourage people turning to bike riding as main transport instead of cars, I think......
change your silly helmet laws for over 18's and you will see people flock onto bikes literally!
