I have the iphone 4g to use the zoom, start up the camera then tap the center of the screen and a - + slider bar will show up on the bottom of your display. No reason to buy a zoom app.

Thanks for the heads up. I think it is absolutely rediculous the features that are considered standard on even freebee phones that are not in iPhones. It is a shame that if you are not the type of person to clutter-up your device with specialized third party Apps because there is not Apple support for them you will not get these features.

There really is no need for a zoom on the iPhone as it is digital and not optical. All you are doing when you zoom with this is degrade the quality of the image.

how great! to zoom in and capture a video u need a software and the apple cant give u one even on the iphone 3g. my very old nokia 6600 or even the older nokia's etc had video recording, zoom, self timer, burst modes etc... oh! even brightness adjustments and potrati modes and even flas on the newer ones(which were older than the iphone)

Actually, most phones only have 2mp. At least the ones I saw on AT&T, anyways. However, I do agree that the iPhone should have 4mp or higher. I am satisfied with two though- when I had to use my dad's 1.3mp camera on his phone, it still had okay quality.

There is a catch to downloading the iPhone Camera Pro. First, you'll have to "jailbreak" the iPhone by downgrading your firmware to 1.1.1 from 1.1.3 (this means you can't move you icons, no multi sms, no additional features to google map anymore) then you can install the App Installer onto the iPhone.

The 2Mp is not enough to allow much digital zoom however so you will likely have a pretty low contrast image?
