I have to say - this game's system of "Find the right tool to break the barrier" would probably annoy me more than a normal "key" system. If you're gonna try for a more realistic way of breaking and entering, there's little reason for things to be specific. A fireaxe might be better suited to taking down a rotting wooden door, but those doors are in such poor shape that - if pressed for time - Ethan could EASILY knock it down with a shovel. Or his Foot-Punch.

Secret TVs tend to be at least somewhat hard to find/get to. Metal pieces and birds are both tied into the plot, and unlock the 'propaganda reports' which help explain the story. Goodness I do love that nervous laugh almost as much as 'mimimimi'
