Sadly this wasn't well executed. This test is inconclusive because a car doesnt get much traction on dirt limiting it's acceleration, also they could have used a newer more powerful luxury car.

The whole speed thing kind of reminded me of Back to The Future (if you don't understand, watch the movie). That was kickass.

I disagree with the busted status of this myth. They were off by two seconds. How much different would the margins be to shave two seconds off the time? Get a Porche or a corvette, anything that can ramp up to 115 in a straight away, you've shaved the two seconds. Or you can move the start line forward about 140 feet.

@chenalos Yeah, can someone explain to me what they're doing? They could have the car hit the ground after the driving car if they just changed some numbers...what does this prove?

@chenalos The line that the driving car crossed when it was going 105mph and the height of the dropped car are equal in distance from the X on the ground. The myth is that you can drive over the X before the dropped car lands, even though they're equidistant from the X.

the car dropped was a early E30, car on ground was a E34

both were E34. E30 is 3 series and much smaller + 3:47 you can see front of the car and E30 dont have painted metal around those 2 square grills. I actually have both models so i can tell :)
