@note156 your way too over critical. sometimes simplicity is the key. you dont always need some dr dre or storch beat....and it doenst have to be some ABC southern beat. no disrespect to the down south beats that dont sound like that.

@mrhazel hell no...sorry...if you want simplicity...Go to Nas is like....Primo uses the same format for his production without much bells and whistles...and is still dope...i'm a big fan of simplicity....but this shit is wack...and dr. dre does drums....the melodies are usually done by other people...such as Scott Storch...The Cocoa Brovas had a simplistic beat using the mario themes...which didn't suck, why not then you know?

There's a lot wrong with it....but the worst thing is that its just a bad loop...the loop is piss poor...it sounds like something i would do when i first had a MPC...let alone a work from one of the greatest producers in hip hop...

I love how Madlib used the Contra 8-bit beat for this. I just wonder why in the CD credits they didn't state that they used it as a sample. Sick beat regardless. Always love how the underground turns 8-bit classic theme games into hot tracks. There are just to many to name. But my stand outs are this track right here, Big Shug Punch-Out, and CB's Super Brooklyn.
