@soulierinvestments In the 1950's, John Charles Daly was not only host of "What's My Line", but also anchor of ABC's evening television newscast.
I've heard an urban legend that Daly was first to broadcast the news on TV that the Russians had launched Sputnik.
Is that true??

FDR died in 1945, not 1942.
