However there is a differences in the averages between the races, in other words the IQ of most people in a group differs between populations (look up: bell curve or standard distribution).

@reg12269 What is wrong with your assimilation argument is the assumption of interchangeability between the races. the differences between the races are highly genetic in their basis. Blacks have a lower IQ which means that (like in the US and UK) blacks would have lower incomes and higher unemployment rates than Poles. Also violent crime rates among blacks would cause a huge spike in crime rates in Poland.

@reg12269 As for generational gaps in the 1800's due to malnutrition whites from eastern Europe who came to the US had IQ's 15-20 points lower than native whites. However within one generation and proper diet the children of the immigrants had IQ comparable to that of whites in the US.

You can identify a persons race with 99.9% accuracy via a DNA test. Race is very much real.

I discovered the stats on IQ differences and results of adoption studies that showed the overall affect was genetic and largely immutable.

Blacks have a lower IQ which means that (like in the US and UK) blacks would have lower incomes and higher unemployment rates than Poles. Also violent crime rates among blacks would cause a huge spike in crime rates in Poland.

@reg12269 As for generational gaps in the 1800's due to malnutrition whites from eastern Europe who came to the US had IQ's 15-20 points lower than native whites. However within one generation and proper diet the children of the immigrants had IQ comparable to that of whites in the US.
Asians on the other hand have higher IQ's than whites. Even when you control for culture Asians adopted by white families perform better on IQ tests than whites do so it's not cultural.

Twin studies, trans-racial adoption studies, and general population studies controlling for socio-economic status all confirm the hereditarian view of brain function. Over the past 20 years advances in neurology have shown that the tabula rasa is not very rasa. If you're really interested read "the Blank Slate" by Steven Pinker.

As for the mixed race thing, mixed races have outcomes that are in between the stats of two "pure racial" types. For example mulatto have an median IQ of ~92 which is between the white median of 100 and the black 83. White/Asian mixed have an IQ of 102 which is between the white and the Asian 104. The same is true for most other heritable traits.

So these types of classification are nothing more than superficial classifications which are being used by racists to justify their fear of others. Leave it to the geneticists to classify our genetic makeup. You be a good human being and treat everyone as you would want them to treat you. It's really simple.

@leicamaster No there's plenty of real traits such as metabolic rates, adipose distribution, bone density, skeletal structure, cranial structure, hormone levels, gestation times, rate of development, disease rates and many other thing in which the races differ. You can identify a persons race with 99.9% accuracy via a DNA test. Race is very much real.
And of course yo should treat people with respect. However lets not ignore the fact that not all populations will perform equally.

@leicamaster they actually are measurable. IQ which is a very useful predictor of performance in the real world in thing such as academic achievement, job performance and income. IQ is according to the American Psychological Association .75 genetic. This is seen in the black/'white performance gap in the free market and on IQ tests. The income gap is very significant.
Genetics and sociology are connected on does have affects on the other. Calling me a poopy-butt doesn't mean that im wrong.

@leicamaster What drew me to the topic was an explination of why under free market conditions of Singapore and Hong Kong, and generally throughout south Asia northern Asian ethnics performed soo much better in terms of economics than the native south Asians. I discovered the stats on IQ differences and results of adoption studies that showed the overall affect was genetic and largely immutable.

As for the IQ test, it does not measure "intelligence" as that is a subjective definition. IQ measures and predicts performance that can be observed in the real world.

@leicamaster The differences in IQ are not only true here in the US but also in countries like Great Britain and France (here blacks settled 50yr ago voluntarily) In UK and FR blacks are in similar social positions and similar crime rates as here in the US despite those nations having "racist institutions," and why is it that Asians outperform whites in the same "institutionally racist" system?

Asians who have been i the US for generations still outperform whites at the same 4 IQ point rate. The IQ of aisans in the US and Europe is the same as it is in Japan and China. All biological traits within a population appear on a bell curve distribution with most being around trhe average. there are lots of high IQ black people but the average is 83 ane ~80% fall fall within the 76-92 range.

I'd be totally ok with getting a job due to ethnic nepotism. Whenever I hire new workers for example I favorite my fellow Polish people over the Irish or Italians. However I would never hire an unskilled Polak over a skilled Italian because that would just be bad business.
