  • The greatest song ever amazing x

  • WOW, AWESOME

  • Going to rework this as a bad ass cover. It's so amazing.

  • amazing....

  • ITS A GREAT SONG BUT WEIRD TO HEAR MOZZA SING A DUET

  • Holy cow, how I didn't know about this awesome music....

  • this song is a MASTERPIECE!!!

  • loving you is a world that's strange

so much more than my heart can hold

loving you makes the whole world change

loving you I could not grow old

no, nobody knows when will end so till then, sweet friend

....some of the most amazing lyrics

  • Tolle Stimmen, viel Gefühl!

  • Listenable enough, with 2 such fine singers, but a touch ho-hum, perhaps? It ain't rock n roll, & doesn't have the compelling or sublime qualities of songs "How Soon is Now" (The Smiths) , or "Spellbound" (Siouxsie & the Banshees).

I read the two headstrong singers clashed over this project, especially over the video. Morrissey wanted to feature a bull dog prominently, while Siouxsie said she

didn't like the implications of the bulldog, it being a traditional celebratory symbol of Britain.

  • time is like a dream...

  • my hubby sent me this song its amazing !!!! x

  • mi dios del cielo,,, no puede ser,, que cosa sublime!!!! dos talentos como ningunos,,, AME

  • flatminding, waiting, that creature on your chest. i love you if you know what i mean, i envy you if you don't.

  • the pics are from a film called 'Dance With A Stranger' starring Miranda Richardson and Rupert Everett. It's the story of Ruth Ellis who was the last woman to be hanged in Britain.

  • Is this vid created for the song or is it from a Movie? Looks like the blonde is Miranda Richardson... Can anyone help, please? It's still an epic song - mostly ignored when it was released. And that is part of it's undying charm.

  • @22Phantasm 'Dance With A Stranger' starring Miranda Richardson and Rupert Everett.

  • @LondonGal4462 Thanks for that, LondonGal4462. Take care.

  • best love song ever <3<3<3

  • love, love, love. morrissey <3

  • What movie is the video from?

  • I really think this song's good for Siouxsie and the song itself; although Morrissey has also touched it up

  • marvellous..

  • Time is like a dream, and now for a time you are mine ........ so beautiful.

  • i love you morrissey and siouxsie!!!!!!!! yee haw! lol

  • For me, the only two people of the 80s that mattered.

  • Beautiful song and great video.

  • great version - Siouxsie & Morrissey .

  • God I didn't even know of the existence of this song until recently. Siouxsie is a legend. Amazing. Something special. And Morrissey, I don't know what it is with him. I like a lot of his music but I can't help but think of him as an irritating twat. I don't know, it just goes to show, you'll never really know what your icons and legends are really like.. So just love the music and forget about the people making it?

  • Loving you is a world that's strange, so much more than my heart can hold. Lovng you makes the whole world change, loving you i could not grow old....ICONIC LINES!

  • too bad they didn't do a video shoot of them together for this video.

  • @INITIALSJE Because they ended up having a disagreement, actually.

  • @lofilife aha, well, we all love both of them but with how Mozzer's reputation has been over the years about holding grudges, it's not too overly surprising.

  • I love the noir feel of the video and I've always thought that Siouxsie's voice was extremely well-suited to that aesthetic. It's pretty evident how well this works when you pick up on those old-fashioned black & white vibes on Mantaray.

  • yes

  • the masters voice

  • Beautiful lyrics, Beautiful song, My two favourite artists together as one...

  • @moonbeam365 you joking?

  • I agree Bike monkey ! i'm a strapping bloke AND a poof, but it really gets to you dunnit ! BRILLIANT song and an excellent collaboration between two MAJOR talents, long may it reign !!

  • I bloody well know that was not Morrissey on top of Siouxsie... think my head just exploded....

  • Is it really true that Morrissey and Siouxsie had a massive falling out with each other after this song? If so, what a shame. They both sound divinely brilliant on this song. :) <3

  • @fatpizzaman They couldn't stand each other. Siouxsie wanted the video to be some sort of archival footage of a woman going to the gallows and Morrissey said she was impossibly difficult to work with.

  • Siouxsie and Morrissey worked so well together, shame the work they did never reaped the reward.

  • timeless. ages like fine wine.

  • stin tzi tzi

  • What movie is that?

  • @DeLoused777 - dance with a stranger - Rupert Everett and Miranda Richarson

  • Beautiful...

  • golly gosh!

is that queeney (miranda richardson) of blackadder 2?

    who's the stud-puppet?

  • film is from Dance With A Stranger

  • Is this the actual official video for this song?

  • BEST SONG E BEST INTERPRETATION

  • FAIL.

  • Is the video about The Great Gatsby film?

  • Whoa, I never knew this song existed! I know she sang with Robert Smith...right? Wow, even better with Morrissey!!! Love'em both!!

  • @TeaThymeInc She didn't sing with Robert Smith!!!! Robert Smith PLAYED with her , as one of the Banshees, which is a lot different!

  • @morrigange Let us not forget their side project The Glove, That was Robert Smith, Siouxsie, and Steve Severin. Dream pop at it's finest. Blue Sunshine forever!

  • @nfarioustinman That was not siouxsie in the glove, mongo

  • best morrissey song!

  • I think I'll leave tonight. But with a smile, and a "fuck you" to God.

  • Time is like a dream...♣

    *sublime*

  • yok bööle bi şarkı sayın seyirciler

  • such beauty to be sang by a god and goddess

  • which movie are these clips from?

  • dance with a stranger

the actors are Miranda Richardson, Rupert Everett and Ian Holm

  • I love, love, love when Morrissey sings ''loving you, i cannot grow old'' .. he is of such depth

  • One night with Morrissey and I would be in eternal bliss.

  • @MorrisseyMozLover One night would Siouxsie and I would die a happy girl.

  • You and me both, soul sister.

  • sheer genius.

  • Do you guys think it's a good song to play to a loved one?

  • A wonderful song.

  • Man I love this song.....

    Billhorton: how so? do tell...

  • this song saved my life

  • this is one of my favourite songs, "loving you i cannot grow old".... what a phrase...

  • Perfect song!!!!!!!!! I love Morrissey!!!

  • Holly shit. I had no idea the two of them got together for such a song. I know both artists, have several CD's from each one. And never knew that did music together. I'm in total shock. Really great combination.

  • My mother is obssessed with Morrissey and she says her friend is obsessed with Siouxsie. She says the two of them used to sing this song together in public and cry their hearts out. It makes me happy since I really love Siouxsie and Morrissey.

  • i love that song! it's so sensational and erotic!

  • dany and a

  • hypnotic stuff.. whoa

    Thanks, this is great!!

  • fucking love this song

    viva morrissey

  • Thank you for posting this beautiful video...

  • I love this song....VIVA MORRISSEY AND SIOUXSIE!

  • @Cutepompis1 i agree with you

  • You should see her in Blackadder - one of the world's better actors.

  • top song, great vid, Siouxsie and Morrisey!! Can't get better than this!

  • This is one of the greatest songs ever....many a time over the years i have cried to this song and im a strapping bloke with no emotions......maybe cause im just a big poof at heart ;-)...its lovely though.

  • i loved reading this

  • I know where you're coming from: can't help having a heart in there--brick shit-house or not (-:

Women are no different: that's all jabber--ice queens everywhere.

Thank god for the simple truths that open us up--men and women alike. This song is one of them.

  • @Bikemonkey7 Well said,old man. cheers...

  • @clizzleable Thanks Maaaan and thanks everyone for liking my comment that makes me look like a big girl ;-)

  • Gordi!!!!!!!

  • What is the name of this movie?

  • "Dance With A Stranger" (1985) Miranda Richardson and Rupert Everett..

  • How could anyone hate this or find it awkward?

    I think it's gorgeous and very neo-noir.

  • so so so surreal and beautiful. A true classic - strange it it's own right, and that's what makes it stand out amongst all others

  • fuck yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • its a masterpiece!

  • Why on earth would Sue not want anything pro-British? Why would she hate this so much, being British herself?

  • Siouxsie apparently went to Morrissey house about making the video to the song but Moz started with some preposterous idea about waving the union jack in the vid and Siouxsie thought it was all very questionable in light of ideas connected to the National Front etc. Moz stormed out of the house and did not return when Siouxsie started confronting him with questions. This was according to Siouxsie in an interview.

  • The song is fantastic !!! i love it. Its so wonderful and true :)

  • i hate to say this but listening to it again... when they sing at the same time, it sounds like KARAOKE

  • haha, yeah a little. as much as i love it, i always thought they sounded slightly awkward together

  • this would have been a fantastic duet if it wasnt for the 2 icons singing the same melody at the same time instead of harmonizing... the individual parts of this song sound so much better.

  • they sound as if they are singing it independently and then play back together. i n fact they sound like a couple of drunks where neither really knows the words and they are looking for help from the other. If they had a baby - it would be a miserable little odd-ball with no-mates

  • @bluenessforever

Agreed entirely. Siouxsie's voice cuts through more than Moz's, which should never be the case in a female/male duet. Still a lovely song that I'll always come back to though.

  • they were great friends actually

  • Actually according to the Banshee autobiography they had a fall out as Morrissey wanted to use a bulldog in the video footage and Siouxsie wanted nothing to do with anything pro Britain, consequently they had a huge fall out and no promotional work was done for the single.

  • Morrissey + Siouxsie's voice is amazing...

but something about this song tells me that there was never a bond between the two; when they sing together, they seem so distant.

    Nonetheless, this is amazing.

  • mozza could not very close to people - he is an odd-ball

  • I wonder if the two of them got along in the studio or if it was like catfight city...They're both heroes of mine, I saw the Smiths and the Banshees in the '80's, but I don't really think much of this.

  • LOVE IT!!!

  • i had no idea this even existed until i found a picture of what i'm guessing is the cover art on google.

my mind has been blown, truly this is a masterpiece

  • Morrissey is great

  • I'm not a big Morrissey fan but hey Siouxsie could do a song with vanilla ice and it would be beautiful.

  • This song is awesome.

  • 086apollo440,

Yeah, but apart from that,it's good right??

  • WTF?! Mozza is the one that hold this brilliant melody together :-) he's vocals are great in this track- soft and yet so fragile, amazing vocal combain with Siouxie- amazing piece of art!

  • This song is so so awesome. I only knew Siouxsie by name until I heard this, and I think she's impressive. Love it so so much.

  • Maliaariadne, I'll agree with that totally.

  • Well... one might look at siouxsies performance as flat... but one might also look at siouxsies performance as her voice is her identity and she is singing in the style she chooses and what all her fans have come to love.

  • AZwolfster,

Check out 'hold' at 1.40. If siouxie's performance is 'flat',I don't know what morrisseys is there!

Either way,It's one of my favorite songs ever!

They are both fan-bloody-tastic and together they are awesome!!!!

  • Awesome flop!

  • It would have been better if they'd harmonized. Siouxsie is a little flat, which probably wouldn't have been noticeable if they hadn't been singing the same notes.

  • I like both of them but this song does nothing for me.

  • check out the original by Timi Yuro ... "Morrissey's favourite singer"

  • She's out of her league in this song

  • Oh my two angels...Great!

  • Morrissey is amazing <3

    Well they both are ^-^

  • per-fect!

  • I love this song! Recently it was covered by Diamanda Galas :-) And the movie was one of my facourites years ago - Miranda Richardson and Rupert Everett <333

  • I still cannot believe I've never heard this one...

  • ha same here and now i love it :D

  • this is the most beautiful yet depressing song I've ever heard. Shouldn't be listening to this, lol. Morrissey and Siouxsie singing that song... it's perfect. I'm not much of a crier, but what can I do being in love with a girl that lives far and listening to this song?

  • it is on "Suedehead: the best of" cd.

    just for those after it

  • whoa. luv morrissey but never even came across this till now. Siouxsie is good.

  • *kiss for Deliliah*

  • I got married to this Song...

  • NOT enough Mosser on this

  • What seems like an interluse now, could be the beginning of love...why don't they make ballads like that anymore???

  • I know. These days what passes for a love song is:

    "BOOTY BOOTY BOOTY ROCKIN' EVERYWHERE!!!"

  • i love this song does anyone know where i can find this beautiful masterpiece on vinyl or cd? i want it soooo bad.

  • LOLOL. Years ago, I made a totally ridiculous prediction. I was a singer, at age 16...and this chick I hung around with was a Madonna fan. She and her (gay) cousin advised me that I should be like Madonna if I wanted to get famous. I laughed and said, "Madonna is a flash in the pan." She wasn't. I couldn't have been more wrong. I did NOT get famous (at least not for singing). I marvel at how Madonna has managed to keep it going. I despise ANYONE with a fake accent, BTW.

  • perfect singing by both of them

  • Beautiful.

  • i love this song !!

    and their voices are perfect!

  • so elegant and romantic

  • It's a really romantic song...

  • fucking marvellous

  • muy bueno!

  • This is a great song, beautifully done by two truly gifted vocal stylists. There has been some "tension" alluded to regarding Morrissey and Siouxsie with this collaboration. Well, in addition to their respective talents, this is a meeting of two tremendous egos as well. And I must say, while this is a "team effort," Siouxsie, in my opinion, carries this song with her voice which seems better suited to this haunting art piece. Perhaps Morrissey too knew that he was somewhat shadowed by Sioux..

  • Was this the official video then? I know that Siouxsie and Morrissey had an argument over the video that they were going to do, so in the end it didn't get made.

  • great!

    my favorite stars! together! wow!
