  • If somebody says "240p... we meet again", i'm gonna shoot them

  • @scot460 240p... we meet again BRING IT!

  • 0:42 poser kid

  • 1:37 It's a shemale with a pulsating erection!!? :O

  • fuck all you "I don't like hip-hop except..." motherfuckers. you just haven't explored the genre at all - you can't understand it at all. you've only heard the shitey mainstream hip-POP so when you hear anythin' half-decent you think it's some kinda exception. you gotta find the real shit. that classic old-school shit, and that modern underground shit. damn.

  • @gdlavery AMEN! a lotta people are missin out because of the stereotypes.. explore.

  • @gdlavery so youre saying this is half decent? now youre shittin on your own carpet..

  • i use to be a metalhead but now i like rap more but i dont really care for t his song. i listen to some of his music but i dont like this song that mmuch

  • @undergroundmetalac Sounds like your failing at life

  • @estanuk wasnt expecting that ha but i guess ur open to ur opinion

  • What year did this video come out? Anyone?

  • One of my favourites.

  • This is real music, proper lyrics

  • proper cockney hip hop

  • When I first heard this track I thought it was the best track I had ever heard...

  • im from the uk and have a good knowledge of hiphop uk hiphop beats people like drake obviouly but it's nothing on nas, moob deep etc

  • ,,this is my drugs, this is my brain!! and it's never going to be the same!!!!" oooooohhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!

  • my ghetto-fi-intellect!!!!!!

  • Listen to what you like. If you wanna hear the same lines over and over then that's your misfortune, but there are still large amounts of Americans who listen to great music and express themselves with it. Music is made for emotion.

  • masterpiece!!!

  • Man this track has so many memories for me....

  • how the fck this ait 1 mil hits wa this world cumin 2?

  • I wouldn't really say I'm into hip hop,rap whatever you like to call this kind of music.I'm more of a metalhead. But you know what? It's songs like this one that no matter what genre you are into you've got to appreciate them.Good music is all there is to it in my humble opinion.

  • @SuperSeabeast What you mean is you assumed there was no good hip hop till you heard this. In other words you were, and probably still are, pretentious and ignorant.

  • @SuperSeabeast AMEN to that bruv.. Peace to you and yours..

  • @SuperSeabeast same thing over here :D im also more of a metalhead, but just like with metal i like my hiphop not too polished, raw as it should be. raw and real

  • @theCREAPx I also liked the song"Stay Positive" by The Streets.Great music and heartfelt lyrics.

  • @SuperSeabeast well said mate... im not the biggest rap fan but this song is pretty epic.... i remember gradually coming down off e and listening to this song and it brought me back up again lol

  • @cawthy07 its a very good "come down" song lol

  • one of the many very under rated british rap artist.....why do we make it so hard for guys like this to become the best and show america how we do/used to do rap shame really they will be forgot as the youth dont know about them klashnekoff roots skinny man ect

  • @tomuko6 Mike GLC,Blak Twang,Lynden Daivd Hall,Tubby T Ect They Where All Awsome and america only know estelle and she's weak as hell

  • @S9anky1982 Now they were the days of Real UK Hip Hop, UK Garage... Before 2004... 'The Good Ole' Days'

  • im american. an american girl actually. im 12 :) my dad (hes 31) showed me this song. i love it! trust me, people whoknow music like this song and not that lady gaga hippity hoppity crap. :) i was raised right. bruhing yoyr teeth with jack just doesnt do it for me :)

  • Why do no American hip hop fans know of this cool guy?

  • @Daghead from first hand experience....most American's are too contempt with the poppy shit they call rap out here and have no concern or care to search for music with a lil emotion. They'd rather hear the same line repeated 20 times as long as its got something to do with drugs or fuckin which makes no sense to me... half of the songs they use for the club hits are just a twist on one cat's record that got no chedda back in the day because the shit was slept on. it is a DAMN SHAME.

  • @deathbycupid spot on

  • the beginning same sample as, Bobby V - In the night

  • @haravtar well this came out a good few years before that song

  • РУТС МАНУВА

  • @seaniebwoy76 'This is my money, this is my pain, these are my drugs' I always thought to myself that this line was him referring to himself about a drug addiction, bn v depressed and his missus getting pist off over him taking so many drugs... ha... thats the good thing about lyrics... they mean something different to everyone.. great artist... seriously good.. Ive seen him live a good few times n he never fails to impress....

  • I want ta feel ya!

  • Best things to come out the UK -

    Slick Rick & Roots Manuva

  • Finally, hip hop thats actually the real hip hop.

  • yowww!im tommy gunns from luton,this tune is a classic,i was born in 69 as a gorgon,so i know whaaa gwalong as a paddy,CLASSIC

  • 23 ones never had dreamy days ....

  • why is it that when he says natural highs are better than chemical ones, I want to get so buzzing and jump around my flat?

  • Who dislikes shit like this? HOMOSEXUALS DO. FAGS

  • Some say I'm arrogant, some say I'm laid-back /

    From a council-flat paying, higher-rate tax /

Who's that, who's the Gheez? Must be me /

    Manuva MC, with a second-LP /

For all of the girls I got the vitality.

One of the best lyrics I've ever heard.

  • why is there a hate between UK and US hiphop in every english hiphop track.? u big fags know nothing about true hiphop .. hiphop united and strong. one love across the world

  • Some say I'm arrogant, some say I'm laid back..

  • roots doesn't care about the hype, he doesn't care about the rap scene, he's a normal middle aged guy whos been through normal things in life, he doesn't polish life up, just tells it like it is

  • saw them do this on jools holland its just a soul grabbin sound, those little melodies send my spine tinglin ,mkes me drift to other places

  • @wardy5446 That's one of the most memorable performances on JH for me. Stone the Crows was great too. Never saw it again, I wish it was posted on here

  • This song is incredible. I bought the album years ago and still love it to this day.

  • @MrHelpinghand2010

I dont think that they are racists, "haters" or whatever....

They dont like the song and thats it ;-)

maybe some of them just "hit the wrong button"

  • I remember hearing this on XFM back in 2001. Now that station doesn't play any rap whatsoever ! A shame really.

  • @dark1ankh

Listen to this back in 2008 and cant get it out of my head!!

This is what a good song is all about, to remember it years ago.....*****

  • This has nothing to do with ketchup

  • i thought hip hop was suposed to be bad .... but this is awesom !!!

  • @Moisterizerph5 Hip hop is fantastic, don't get put off but all the awful generic gangsta shit!

  • love roots manuva ... si beau morceau ! je rêve

  • roots goes hard big ups uk

  • I think Manuva is the Best Rapper out of England Ever, not counting the British born but US raised MF Doom and Slick Rick!! Another dude that kept me from sleeping on the UK scene -y'all got a few (and I do mean a few) that can rap circles around even the best of US mc's and this dude is by Far the Gold Standard for the UK scene - and also the first that made me go run out and cop his Catalog - Run Come Save me was a masterpiece!!

  • This track will be in uk music history forever!FACT!

  • aT Leeds Fest Tomorrow :D

  • to be fair the uk has a unworthy hip hop scene in the charts nowadays. unfortuantly no country is where the raps at you gotta go back and find your own tracks > anyone remember the brotherhood? one shot'

  • shame most people are hyped up with DOOM and stuff.

  • my view is this,,, american hiphop has become an industry its owned by cooperations who are about profit rather than content... had he been speaking about about ciroc or potraying a lavish life style to influence his fans to spend spend spend he'd get on mtv.... keep doing u man u certainly have me as a fan..

  • @thebkjedi that shit isn't real hip hop. fuck the industry! all good shit is underground. it's like ww2. all the real shit is underground the radio and tv are like nazi propaganda. US has some of the most innovative mc's ever check out HIEROGLYPHICS,MYSTIK JOURNEYMEN, LIVING LEGENDS, BLACKALICIOUS,BUSDRIVER,ACEYALONE,ELIGH,THE GROUCH,MURS,ZION-I,ABSTRACT RUDE,ATMOSPHERE, EYEDEA & ABILITIES, i can sit here forever naming quality shit. check em out though if u don't know.

Now I'm thinkin' who's house is this?

This is my money, this is my pain, these are my drugs

This is my brain, and it's never gonna be the same "

  • British hiphops deffinitly where its at nowadays, not to say there's no good stuff still coming from America, but the British have the Streets, Roots Manuva, Jamie T and and Scroobius Pip. America has lil wayne and eminem...

  • @daggors america also has sage francis, blacklicious , people under the stairs, brother ali, mf doom, talib kwali, the roots, blue scholars, del the funky homosapien, aesop rock ect ect who are all excellent artists.

Hip hop is like any music, theres great stuff hidden beneath the surface. turn off your tv or radio and get searchin

  • @HamletCigaro DOOM and Del are beeeeaaasts.

Shame most people are all hyped up with Lil Wayne and stuff.

  • @HamletCigaro you forgot Jeru and KRS. You must begin at the top of the list.

  • @HamletCigaro you forgot about immortal technique.

  • @HamletCigaro I'm not disagreeing, but I'm pretty sure DOOM is from England.

  • I DONT BELEIVE 4 HUNDRED ANS 18 THOUSAND PEOPLE WATCHED THIS

  • top stuff

  • true life skills values. Rod don't need to compete with American hip hop the talants here.

  • this song is EPICALLY brilliant-just a perfect song

  • from a council flat, paying higher rate tax!

  • i remember this tune back in the summer of 2001, and even 9 years later it still sounds sharp as F**k!

Yeah there are a load of talented USA rappers but there is something so crisp about the way a british man spits his lyrics, so much uk talent nowadays, plan B, Pro Green, Dizzee Rascal, tinie Tempa and the grand daddy ROOTS MANUVA!

  • havent heard this in YEARS!

first time i heard it must've been on Raskwame's radio1 show, or on Rob da Bank's show, about 5 years ago.... fuuuuuck.

    nostalgia is a bitch, eh?

  • loved this tune back in my younger days. brings it all back

  • brit hop at its finest.. you dont believe me think im cheesy baby baby babe

  • yeah man he the bomb!!!!

  • lovin this tune! legend!

  • they say i sound like this guy ...

search for 'binary process ryanjmccormack' on youtube

  • whoever said american rappers where better lyricist hadnt heard of roots manuva... bloody muppets.

  • the live recording of this from the BBC Sessions album by Giles Peterson is ILL. slower, jazzier and more piano.

  • I don't really like hip-hop / R&B but I have to say this is amazing.

  • the first time i ever heard him was when i watched the demon days concert of the gorillaz. and he had a cool rap so i looked him up, he good. but MF Doom surpasses him

  • @fmradica True but I don't think you can necessarily can compare them...Doom is more about stream of consiousness and adapting reality into the surrealism of pop media and novelties. Manuva is more concrete and follows a pattern of verses...he is more conservative in technique but makes his points clear in songs. I do enjoy Doom more but some of his albums are a little wonky and hard to decipher what theme is being achieved and haven't heard his work surpass MadVillain or Born Like This recently

  • I heard him years ago and he was one of my favourites, I hear him now and he gained respect. It's almost unreal, he's the truth. Respect all over.

  • Maddd Tune!

  • i have soo much respect for him.. inspirational... people forget that he has been their for yearss... he has been doing this for years.. see if he was american he would be known as a rap legend... in the UK besides ppl that know him, no one else does... and thats a shame..

  • i will like to just watch d bride dance... endlesly. shes HOT! gotta meet her!
