  • "L-l-l-l-look at you Garrett..." xD

  • The hole album is amazing. Love it!

  • Amazing...brings back memories from 89/90 when I saw them in NB while at Rutgers...they were amazing live

  • I saw Tribe play for the last time at The Orpheum. They backed up James. Another memorable night.

  • I was introduced to Tribe when I lived in Boston in the 80s and 90s and they were my favorite band. I was "in love" with Terri Brosius, the demure and shy-appearing keyboard player and singer. I loved her sweet voice and personna... Thanks for putting this together, brings back great memories....

  • wow... I miss them! I lost their cassette, how long ago is that? ha ha

  • anyone have their song "anna" which may be on their very first album of 1987? i can't find ti anywhere. thanks, the owl

  • W00T SHODAN IS SINGING. They should have made System Shock 1 / 2 really scary by making Shodan sing or something. You know, you suddenly hear the voice, really soft, not loud, and then some kind of really "simple" song. Can scare the crap outta ya. And then, I WILL GET YOU INSECT lol

  • Absolutely bitchin. This is one of the groups I listened to in college, along with the Pixies and O-Positive. Dynamite shit! Thanks for posting.

  • underrated???? fn awesome!!!! solid throghout!

  • Janet.

  • By the way, hellknightlizz has put the album version of "Serenade" on YT.

  • Eric Brosius \m/

  • when i was younger my father was so obsessed with tribe. i would just hear him blasting it upstairs. i wasnt really into it cuz i was so young but now im just as obsessed. this band should have kept going. sooo rediculously amazing...every song

  • I saw them so many times at Avalon or The Paradise in Boston. Best performance was at the Orpheum when they backed up James.

  • The cassette version is better than the cd version. It was thier 1st album and it was raw, very powerful. The cd was thier attempt to go national. The mixing was a watered down attempt at a mainstream market. Too bad .A great band with much talent. I wish I could get a copy of the cassette recordings. I saw them live in Boston ,twice. Excellent. They ended with To sir with love at one show , and Godzilla at the other. Pretty f ing cool.

  • I have the cd version and it is more engaging than this version, more lively.

  • Do you happen to have the MP3s for Sleeper? I've been looking for them forever but I can't find anywhere I can buy them, let alone download them. If you do, that'd be awesome if you could email them to me.

  • I miss Tribe. They were amazing LIVE not to mention the fact that Terri and Janet are smoking HOT!!! with voices of angels. Damn!

  • kinda upbeat trance-o-matic ...mazzy star without the absynthe and necrotic liver. nice.

  • so my father the other night says...lets find a good band and just follow them around. I haven't heard many plans from him so at least it was a plan. People that want to live...usually you hear a plan from them. Its the opposite of suicide plans.

  • I agree, tremendous record.

  • I was (still) in love with Janet...awesome band saw them everytime they played the channel

  • it like lisent to my favorite girl cRAMBERIE I love it .

  • This brings me back. I remember the double bills with O Positive, seeing them play at Nightstage. The Boston music scene in the '80's was one of the best in the country.

I miss the Rat, the Channel, the OLD Kenmore Square before B.U. destroyed it, The Kids Will Have Their Say in Harvard Square...

  • Getting shivers from hearing this voice. I except her to say "L-l-l-look at you hacker.."

  • well, the singer of tribe was jane lavalley, terri brosius played keyboards and figured as back vocal.

  • Although Terri was the lead on this song... Keeroy, I implore you again, please put "Easter Dinner," "Daddy's Home," "Serenade," and "Tied" on YT, for the sake of humanity!

  • And I thought the studio version of "Jakpot" is on YT, but it isn't, and that's a more crucial Tribe song than any of the others I mentioned.

  • @keeroy Terri did the vocals in this song, though, as well as Mr. Lieber. Thus saith the wiki gods! :-)

  • @keeroy Isn't this one with Terri on lead vocals? Her pitch is slightly higher than Janet's.

  • @keeroy actually Terri sings main vocals on two tracks, Rescue Me and Mr. Lieber. So watch out hackers...

  • @keeroy That is true, but Terri sings lead on this one. I saw them in Dallas in 93. They were perfect live.

  • @Rezorrand I saw Tribe in 89, they played at a bar in Billerica Mass. excellent show, very close to the stage and got to talk with the whole band and stare at Janet..

  • @mrghin22 Edible Rex?

  • @bmiltonb Was it off of Middlesex Turnpike area?

  • @mrghin22 It's been so long since I was in the area, I can only say, "Could be." I came from further north, and it's the only place I remember going to in Billerica 20-plus years ago. I never drove there, either, thankfully...! Small, as I recall...

  • @Rezorrand pathetic cr-creature of meat and bone

  • Wow. So that's what Shodan sounds like.

  • And just for the record, I haven't sent them any links to any Tribe songs YET (obviously, or your view count would have EXPLODED), because the time isn't ripe for that yet... I'm picking my moments... but I will, rest assured...

  • Keeroy,

If you get the chance, you would be doing the world a tremendous favor if you posted the album versions of "Easter Dinner," "Daddy's Home," "Jakpot" , "Serenade," and "Tied." No one has put the album versions of those on youtube yet.

I'm sure you're a busy person, but the album is out of print and itunes doesn't have the songs... it's a crying shame that this group is not known to a lot more people... you would be doing a public service by posting those songs!

  • hello! well, i really intend to post also some of the songs you´ve mentioned, because they are really awesome too. it´s only a matter of free time i unfortunately didn´t have enough in the last time...

  • I hear you, keeroy, and the work you've already done is much appreciated... if you do get the chance at some point, it would be awesome if you could post them, not for me, but for all the potential Tribe fans who might not otherwise be exposed to their music. (Such as my Facebook Friends, who I would send a link to the songs on Youtube...)

  • @773SleepyHollow Just find a torrent or use Soulseek

  • They are so good!!!

  • hehe Shodan is in this band, sweet they sound pretty good.

  • Greg LoPiccolo invented the popular game Guitar Hero.

WRONG. Guitar Hero was adapted from the Konami game "Guitarfreaks".

  • Génial !

  • Of corse!

  • Wow. Did someone really just compare Tokyo Hotel to THIS?!?!?! That pop crap is so boring I don't know why so many people like it. There is no basis to the music. No soul. There is, however, electricity. Just look at the lead singers hair.

    Tribe is awesome.

  • Somebody please make a torrent of this band!

  • This is great. Is there any way to download these videos to your computer. If there is, please tell me

  • real player downloader.

  • exactly as you say. the newest version of real player. and you can donwload all youtube videos.

  • It works so well, get it before they are forced to shut it down. Just remember the quality is only as good as the video is posted on youtube, which is not so great. Still cool though.

  • @trevorblanco

Orbit Downloader is even better - it's free (you pay only for pro version), it's small, it's fast and you can not only download videos from yt but also from Google Video, Vimeo, and a couple of others.

Actually using Orbit Downloader I can download almost every embedd flash video.

Apart from that Orbit Downloader is a full featured download manager. You can throw flashgets, leechgets etc. away...

  • The singer is definately SOOPER talented. 5 star.

  • Keeroy, you're a hero for posting the album version of this, but you would be an even BIGGER hero if you also posted the album versions of "Jakpot" and "Vigil."

Seriously, we'll give you a PARADE...

  • oh, what an honour ;) thanx!

well, i still havn´t finished with posting tribe, i´m only missing pictures of them. but if i don´t find any other, i´ll post the songs with different pics.

  • i completely agree. commercial success seems to be an illness diagnose today, because it depends on the decisions of the labels. and a label manager wants to reach even the last brainless stone age primitive without a trace of a musical taste. so (c)rap became a genre for example :))

  • @keeroy I think Frank Zappa got it right when he said The old guys in suits let the musicians try new things. When the hippie kids grew into the positions of power at the recording studios , they thought they knew what the music should sound like, and pushed thier influence on the music. It has become more corporate than ever.

  • One of the best band ever! Nice sound...

  • what is tokio hotel?

  • Tokio Hotel is a german band and extremely popular in Europe. In my opinion they are very good, but I've never heard them do this song.

  • "unfortunately" i know those teenies. absolutely not my taste :)

  • aww, yer silly :)

who else do you like besides Tribe?

  • hmmm, you can see the videos i´ve made ;) they are all my favourite bands. its a wide scale. from the who to dead can dance, from nine inch nails to bill leeb, from pink floyd to interpol...

  • thanks for posting this. I commented on the other video about how I saw them in concert back in 89-90 at Boston University.

  • right after this song ended I expected to hear the intro to Jakpot...

  • Rock doesnt use Janet's voice which is too bad because she is so impressive but I'll buy the video game just because there is a Tribe song.If you like Tribe you will like the live video's of Tribe I found and uploaded. See Tribe at Avalon.Hope you like. I loved seeing this band any time I could.

  • never heard of them until my wife and i got rockband. tribe is our fav to play. don't know why so many people, particularly musicians are anti-rockband. we bought some cd's b/c of the game, and we bought a real drum set to go along with the guitars we bought after playing guitar hero. so yeah, we're total geeks...

  • i love tribe, but there is a game called Rock band, their is a tribe song on their called Outside, is that a real song..?

  • Yep, it's included in the game and it sounds real to me! It's great and one of my favorite songs in Rock Band.

  • I found my Tribe video. I put it on stage6 because it's 80 minuts long.

Type stage6 website then in search box type Tribe @ Avalon.divx. or click Community type massound in the Search users box. Then click on "massound" then click on thumbnail of Terry then your there. Hope you enjoy. Mike H

  • thanx for the comments, folks ;).

radam - well, i´m surprised too about their short existence. because they had such a potential to achieve much more, nearly every song is a gem...

  • Reminds of the old days in Boston. I LOVE this song. Tribe was such a great band. I really thought they would be a major national group. I nearly passed out when they split. Thanks for putting this great song here. GREAT song!!!

  • Very nice montage. thanks for sharing.

  • Great band, great song. They are missed! Thanks for posting this.
