This is really a cute song. My favorite recording is on the Carousel Christmas CD, recorded at Seabreeze Park,Rochester, NY, played on their 1925 252-pipe Wurlitzer model 165 band organ. It is yet an even happier tune when played in the carousel music style. Thanks for posting.
I'm a collector of christmas music and it's only in the last couple of years that i found this.. think it's one of those hidden ones that suddenly are used for an ad and then the radio stations start playing it..
My husband and I subscribe to Directv- and it wasn't until a couple-3 years ago we heard this song on their Holiday music channel. It has become one of our favorites. Thanks SO MUCH for posting this- it is on my favorites list! :o)
I think, You can thank the combination of the internet with all of it's info-sharing and the lead singer of Soul Coughing - Mike Doughty for doing a remake in the early 2000's. That's how I was turned on to this gem!
Tell what you do it's nothing to be ashamed of,having said that I was a bit shy about telling folks when I was a kid " a boy playing with dolls!!"...its a diferent story now though having worked for Hensons a few times. Cheers, Dave.
Too true! I tell people and they either check out my vids... hello to museum staff!!, or they forget as they walk away.. I would be singing from the roof if i'd worked for the Hensons!!! LOL
..at work they already think i'm 'off key' as i do alot within GirlGuides(UK) too :-) so they accept puppets as 'just sharon'
Very cute! It was soooooo much better than the person who posted a Barbra Streisand puppet singing "Jingle Bells"! You can move the mouth while keeping up with the music. Post another, please. If you can, could you see if you could post a puppet singing "Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer"! Hopefully, you can reply before Christmas?
how appropriate.
