i too am working on a zombie story a 12 part series that not in chronological order, and they are a mix of a resident evil/left4dead feel, but even then i came up with some original stuff. ive been working onit for about 3 years
I think this was a pretty good movie! And I also think people now a days are afraid of movies like this that's created with realistic,natural and normal human life situations! I am a old school horror fanatic! So to me it's a pretty good movie! P.S. At least it wasn't claiming to be true!

@KurlieDinosour not entirely. Return of the living dead added a new twist... but yes a newer twist with better CGI would be amazing. I would absolutely love a remake of return of the living dead.

@KurlieDinosour Well almost all of the Zombie movies were made by George A. Romero (except for Zombieland, 28 weeks later, Resident Evil movie series, and Shaun of the Dead). The thing is you cannot change or alter the whole plot of a Zombie film and that is the "Apocalypse" where everyone is dying and then they're become mindless shells. There really isn't more to add to a zombie film, I personally think they should go back to the slow zombies instead of the infected but to each their own.

There is only so much difference someone can do, especially when if you try too hard it becomes ridiculous and all your inspiration (cause zombies dont exist) comes from other movies.
I am scratching my writing skills by attempting a scifi mix, zombies and aliens, lol ! But whenever i think of the overall plot it seems ridiculous, (although often one event will trigger another, they arent two random) but i am also stuck, no inspiration!

@KurlieDinosour But they are zombies, not really a creative kind and the possibilities of going any different is really, not much. The survivors gotta act that way or else a movie won't last for long. Really, Zombies, not really creative, just losing your humanity will get you far away.
But really, sadly surviving zombies are pretty limited. Personalities and tactics, something else would just be luck, but luck will only get you so far.

Though Romero isn't known for bringing back his original characters, haven't you noticed that none of Romero's movies have returning characters. @AppleTrailers It's already in the works. The book "World War Z" is going to be made into a movie. That book is a series of interviews after the "zombie outbreak" has happened and been controlled. Very Awesome.

theres 100000000000000 to many zombie movies..... and only a few good ones. getting tired of the turning of the definition of the word horror- from scary to gory. gore isnt scare, its disgust. zombie movies are meant to be gory, but i wish they would make more movies like drag me to hell, and silent hill.

"Diary" was a great zombie movie, a retelling, of the apocalypse; good acting, good scenes, alot better than the "Land" movie; very good, all around.
