I used to have a GPX portable CD player that I got in Christmas of 2008 but then the cheap thing stopped working properly during 2009. so now I have a Sony Walkman CD/Radio with G protection that I bought over the summer of this year. I smashed my GPX CD player in the summer. R.I.P. GPX CD player (October 2006-July 2010)
lol my cd players all suck in some way 2 of mine play mp3 CDs but I have the guts of the cd player assembly from a boombox and it works better than any of my portables.
maybe ill do that in my motorola hifi when i fix it ill mount that cd player assembly somewhere on it but id prob need a switch or something to change between the cd player and another device but ive rigged a female headphone jack to the audio out wires so all id really need is a standard Y adaptor
0:28 that is so wrong, thats what my very first cd player did and it was an old sony discman Zero skip protection, im glad I listen to mp3s my ipod and PSP will never skip,0:41 I got an idea let me shoot it with my airsoft gun, 5:46 now what id do is take some thick wires and hook them to a car battery or hi-power power supply and touch the wires to points on the circuit board and watch the smoke fly but this might be dangerous so use caution.
I was ready to cry when I looked at the electronics shelf at the thrift store and all I saw was GPX, Emerson, Lenoxx Sound, Curtis, Durabrand, and worst of all... jWIN. Have you ever seen "brace bladed" speakers? That's what jWIN uses. Anyway... yes, SDI makes Timex products. Maybe you can find out what actually makes Indiglo glow!
I think its a high voltage low amp power not like a taser but theres a chip or something in the circuit that boosts the battery volts to a level required by the indiglo light panel try a google search how indiglo works
I have an ihome speaker for the ipods and it ate batteries like crazy and cut out alot so i hacked the shit outta mine and rebuilt it look up modified ihome2go. man the ihomes r a rip off 50 bux for a piece of shit do not ever buy an ihome unless you got money to burn and you wanna hack it like I did, sry about this spats im commenting too much lol but i just cant stand todays cheap crap electronics
I had a durabrand anti skip disckman that sounded better than a $50.00 sony , I had it until my little sister broke the latching mechanism, I had a GPX one too until my sister broke it. I have a memorex now, and I hide it.
If I was teacher confiscating those things from students, I would take it to the woodshop class and grind it up with the disc sander. Then I'll give it back to the student in a powdery form, hahahahahaha!
at least it sounded decent, the new sony portable CDP's have a weak output and distort easikly. I agree that the audiovox was crap, didnt have antiskip.

Looks like the Audiovox had the last laugh with that power supply!
FYI: Soundesign is still in business! They are now called "SDI Technologies" and make the "iHome" brand of cheap crap electronics.

I know! Believe it or not, I have a 1996 Timex Indiglo alarm clock... On the bottom sticker, it even says "SDI Technologies"!
Something might accidentally happen to that one too ;)

since you fried that power supply, try the next best thing, hook it up directly to a 120 or 240 volt outlet

I had one of those as my first diskman, and even with gentle use, it broke down in about 2 months LOL
