  • i dont think anybody should be surprised if in the middle of one of thir shows or studio sessions flo suddenly bursts into fames.

  • @DeftilSteve lmao Flo goes Super Saiyan!!

  • O-M-G!! O.O

  • pure beast

  • anyone else get shivers up there back watching this???

  • 素晴らしい!

  • 1:01 makes me jizz my pants everytime

  • The drumming on The Unspoken King is fucking amazing, the vocals and such are obviously off putting though, but Jesus Christ, I didn't even pay attention to the vocals, Flo just raped my ears for an hour. New album should be great though.

  • 1:05 was mind-blowing o.O

  • vacca madonna!!!!

  • I prefer blasphemy made flesh xD

  • u ppl need to realize flo sux bad

  • sad :50 to 1:12 sounds horrid

  • BEST SONG FROM CRYPTOPSY! LOVE IT

  • makes it look so easy

  • 3:43 listen to the bass. DANG!

  • very good, after seeing all those random blasters a good drummer sounds great ;)

  • quebecers are the best in metal (and anything else)Estie

  • 2:54 that part is so awesome

  • Sickk ;O

  • 0:50 SICK!

  • Nice

  • Damn he so fast his drumsticks are going to disappear into another universe

Truly one of the best Metal Drummers out there and one of my favorites

  • so true

  • 0:50 - 1:03 made me cum hard oO. How fast is this guy?

  • @L2DSpAwN This song, if I remember correctly, goes up to 320bpm at times.

  • Practice, and the fact that he was a woodpecker in a past life.

  • 2:40 to 2:47

    Rape speed: Engage.

  • macrocover!! five stars

  • FUCKING MANIAC!!!!!!!! LOOOOOOOOL

  • their new album may blow, but he's blasting at ~162 bpm at the begining.

    fastest I've heard yet.

  • You mean in 32nds at 162? If so, I'm guessing he's doing a gravity blast.

  • no.... I mean 16ths at ~162. it's not a gravity blast it's just really fast with one hand

  • My musical taste is broader and more eclectic than you could imagine.

If anything, Flo sucks now, his best work ended a good 15 years ago.

and I'm not saying that Cryptopsy's best is Flo's best, but frankly he's gotten very stale.

  • Writing this is knowing very little about the overall abilities of Flo within and outside of the Metal genre...

  • I was responding to someone who said Cryptopsy suck based solely on the Unspoken King

  • My mistake then. However, I have yet to be disappointed but an album from the Montrealers. I think with this level of musicianship and talent, they must have done those changes for a good reason (and I accept them because its still better than a good majority of what other bands are producing).

  • Unspoken King isn't a bad album, it's just that compared to old Cryptopsy stuff it's horribly mainstream and watered down. If any other band released it, no doubt it'd be called a great example of deathcore. Cryptopsy fans are just turned off by the sudden shift.

  • Have you even heard any early Cryptopsy?

  • back when they were.................... good ;(

  • i play with a fan aswell :D

  • dude i love watching him play its insane

  • The buildup and then that brief stop before the brutality at 1:01 is just SICK.

  • Correction: Cryptopsy sucks NOW. None So Vile and Whisper Supremacy will always be known as amongst the best albums of the genre.

  • @zgates dont forget the almighty Blasphemy Made Flesh

  • @zgates once was not is also incredible \m/

  • @GrowlingVocals Once was not was instrumentally a phenomenal composition, but the vocals were pretty mediocre. Lord Worm still suited the band better at his lowest than DiSalvo in general.

  • @force39osborn well there can be no doubt about that but in crypstopsy i generally listen to the instruments, not the vocals which i dont find really emm.. appealing, while the instruments are extraordinarily wonderful so i think the album in general is quite fucking metal

  • @GrowlingVocals Lord Worm is a fantastic vocalist though.

  • @zgates Sayin that the new cryptopsy sucks mean you know nothing in music, or that you are closeminded. Every album they did was different, the next one will be different too. You got to appreciate every style they try. Because everything they do is awesome.

  • @Sorryfortheblood what you are saying is in direct contradiction to the message you are trying to convey, pal. you are being close minded in that you think your opinion is the gospel truth.

  • @zgates Blasphemy Made Flesh and None So Vile*

(Whisper Supremacy is good too though)

  • BRUTAL.

  • Thats Jon Levasseur on guitar to the right of flo!!

  • still cant believe they went from this to the unspoken king.

  • brutal as a mother fuck. \m/

  • thizz izz gret

  • thizzle

  • fuckin baller!

  • this is so great

  • Would never listen to this anyway, how good he just might be...

  • @Zazquatch1 you just did listen to this douche bag

  • Vous craignez tous bande de nazes... Comment j'aimerais trop vous voir devant une batterie !!!

    mdrrr

Vos petits commentaires de merde !!!

  • šikovnej

  • Ala mierda...o_O

  • works both ways i think.. you find one guy whose been training and taking lessons for decades, then youll find a guy who is more "experienced" but was completely self taught,, youll then find another guy whose better than them both.. i dont think you could fully argue one side more than the other

  • ur right, but some people r protegee's , Beethoven never had 1 music listen :)

  • highly relative... there´s some people that has the gift to percieve the composition of music way more easily than other people, wich enables them to learn faster just from listening...BUT, higly "trained" musicians learn techniques that took years to develop and to masterize... NO MATTER WHO YOU ARE, you won`t be able to learn as well if you`re not teached or if you don`t even do any training!!....so, really...disagree with this man...

  • well now. why are some people arguing about technical side of music rather than it's creativity? flo didn't help create this song just to get a workout you know?

  • of course, creativity and technical ability are very different things, and there are people that have most of one than the other... I`m just saying that TECHNICALLY you can`t be as good just for yourself, even if you are "gifted" as someone that has talent (and love what she/he does) and is teached on her/his instrument... I`m ain`t saying that Flo is not creative! he is! but also a highly capacitated musician

  • Yet, I hear all the time on this board that Flo is not a tight musician and doesn't have the best of technique.

  • I think everyone has their own techniques, or way of playig or whatever people want to call it... the good thing about paying an instrument is playing it your own way!

In my oppinion Flou is great, maybe "technically" there are better drummers, but he plays it his own way...

Examples of that are Vinnie Paul or Chris Adler... they`re not the best technically but they play it the way they want... that`s what is great!

  • sorry for my lack of vocabulary... my english is really lame...haha!

  • how do you know?

maybe he just was tired of lifting some weights so he decided to smash the fuck out of a drumkit.

  • as for the vocals: where do you think flo put his drumsticks after that session?

yeah, poor Dan Greening... that´s how you create a death metal band lol

    haha i´m drunk, great song

  • i dont care how good you can feel music. without proper trainning, lessons, or whatever there is no way in hell you can play as good as someone who has been playing for a while or who has been taking lessons. the stuff flo mounier is doing comes from years and years and years of practice not the ablitiy to just feel music

  • I find myself more amazed everytime I watch this video, Each time I find new fills that drop my jaw to the floor.

  • Amazing.

  • insanity

  • =O...

  • wow, 2 trolls going at it

  • Some people will disagree, but I myself play better because I feel the music. You do not need expensive lessons, or the greatest equipment to be able to play this well. Practice does help, but a very personal visualisation of the music in your mind and soul will allow you to play what you want, how you want. Don't expect 200+bpms without the muscle tone, but that is a different story. I'm talking each individual note played. You CAN create anything you want. If it sounds bad, keep trying.

  • Ok.. Yeah, you've got some things right.

Bu if you are better then for example Flo, then why isn't there any videos of you playing? Or is there?

  • So you're saying that a well-toned person who "feels the music" could, without lessons, potentially play as good or better than, say, Flo? Bullshit.

  • Yep, that is exactly what I am saying. It;s your right to disagree.

  • Good or better is too relative and subjective.

  • lol, yeah he is amazing

  • Best trolling I've ever seen.

  • 3:30 on is so sick especially at 3:40

  • I know, I was just messing around. Boy, sarcasm seems pretty hard to catch on the internet, huh?

  • 2:45 is so fucking sick...

  • And shit! I just remembered I own it. I feel good now.

  • Out of all the bands in existence, old Cryptopsy - namely, this album - will always hold a position for being amongst the sickest, twisted and most creative Death Metal ever.

    No argument.

  • you all are just mad because cryptopsy is the sickes band ever

  • why are you guys talking about brain cells on a drumming video ? lol

  • dude this is a fucking drum video, watch it, who gives a shit if drinking kills brain cells ! fuck play drums and drink! and blaze all day!

  • Cryptopsy is the best band ever before they went all poser. Flo is still one of the best drummers of all time, if not the best.

  • omfg this guy is fucking sick!!!

    he rocks!!1

  • This is awesome. It would be pretty hard to argue that Flo isn't one of the top 5 death metal drummers of all time. He can do it all (metal genre). \m/

  • 2:43 is sick

  • Death metal at its finest

  • Ridiculous blasts

right up there with behemoth and vital remains

  • Had to play on half-speed to actually see him hitting the drums :D

  • Oh man oh man i'm going to miss that old Cryptopsy sound :(

  • @JiMiHeNdRiX714 No kidding, I'm with you on that one.

  • he is my favorite metal drummer, it's really awesome

  • qu'une fierté d'.abvoir un québécois qui trash de meme.

  • scaaaarso!!

  • its true you dumb motherfuckers. i play drums and guitar. its not like i havent played before you fucking tards.

  • awesome man

  • 2:46 HOLY GODDAMN FUCKING SHIT!

  • at 2:16 sounds like a new Rammstein song... the one Christoph Schneider is recording on a video

  • You can't compare an rammstein song to the classick death metal that Cryptopsy made

  • ahhhh i remember this was the first cryptopsy song i heard.

    sweet sweet high school memories.

  • You really need to dig your head out of your arse.

  • wtf and i thought guitar was harder to play...

  • my eyes are too slow to watch him hahaha...

  • I have a new found respect for drummers. that is just crazy.

  • This is how I got into metal music. I was a drummer and stuff like this amazed me.

  • Wow.

I've never seen anyone actually manually choke the hi hat before...

    3:40

  • I fucking love this video

  • Flo is crazy good, this has got to be one of the best death metal songs ever!

  • Unless you look at it from a more technical stand point. Like the drumming of George Kollias and Derek Roddy.Yes plenty of speed, but plenty of technique as well

  • Your fucking funny douchebag, what kind of name is ollecarlsson you bitch?!?!

  • 4:03 looked fucking crazy

  • 0:51 till 1:03 man!!!! thats fukin awesome!!! all that risin tempo !!

  • flo mounier is freakin AWSOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I thought Flo had a big kit.....but then i saw Terry Bozzio's. fuck

  • Yeah but put both drummers on a standard three piece kit. I personally think Flo could beat the fuck out of them, but dont get me wrong Terry Bozzio isnt bad

  • i was just talking about the sheer size of bozzio's kit. The only thing I've heard of him is when he played live with Fantomas in Italy. And that wasn't even his own work, he was filling in for Dave Lombardo

  • Yes I totally agree with that, bozzio has the biggest and baddest set there is. He has something like 5 snare drums and who knows how many toms...have you seen how long it takes to put up that thing?

  • Oh, more snares than that. I read somewhere that his cymbals are tuned. Have you seen his pedal layout? Insane! There's something like 20-something pedals, I believe.

  • Wow alot of snares....yeah i wouldnt be surprised if his cymbals are tuned, because with all the cymbal stuff he does it would probably blend into one terrible crash without tuning....yeah man i forgot bozzios pedals as well, they line like the whole fricken drumset, how does he not hit the wrong one....

  • he probably never drinks. he can't afford to lose any brain cells at all.

  • haha thats true, imagine how much time he has put into memorizing what he knows....

  • drinking doesent kill brain cells thats a myth i wonder how many other things in life youre wrong about?

  • its not that. i smoke weed and drink. but i know firsthand that its does affect your memory. (playing high or drunk that is)

  • Are you a retard? Drinking kills brain cells, BUT brain cells multiply, so the dead cells are replaced by new ones.

  • so you dont lose any rht? same same....dumbazz

  • The brain and the nervous system develop during the first two years of life... Brain cells do not regenerate, they only evolve. All your lost brain cells are lost forever.

Your comment was kind of off-topic anyway, but just wanted you to know that.

  • your wrong...drinking can damage these neuron thingys...but not the cells themselves..also there is a lot of science showing that moderate drinking actually improbes cognitive thinking into old age

  • improves lmao...sorry im drunk ...lol

  • moderate drinking in those studies is a glass of wine a day, most people define modereate drinking as 3-5 drinks spaced over time.

  • how do you know what "most people think"?

  • im going by people i know. technically not an overall average, but almost everyone i know defines moderate drinking as 3-5 drinks in 1-3 hours.

  • Brain Cells multiply, it has been recently discovered, (in the last 4 years) that brain cells multiply, so yes they are dead forever, but they are replaced because the other brain cells multiply

  • No, once your brain cells are gone, they are gone! That's why when you get whacked on the head whichever part of the head respectively is no longer functioning, new cells do not replaced the dead or damaged cells

  • Is this Mounier? I think he just has two kicks and two high-hats, which is fairly standard for a big death metal kit. Don't quote me on that.

  • I'm sorry but seriously Bozzio kicks Flo's ass, Flo is an expectional death metal drummer but it ends at that. Sure he can gravity roll at 200+ BPM but in no way can he match Bozzio's 4 way idependence, general technique, rudimentary techinque, musical sensibilities and awareness of the muscians he's working with.

Unfortuantly alot of metal heads cant see past metal.

  • I never said Bozzio sucked, yes he is very technical, but not technical at speeds like this. Flo can do a lot more than gravity roll. If you watch his stuff only a lot slower, he is extremely technical and talented. Bottom line they are both great drummers, but dont cut down Flo because he's faster. Hes just as technical as bozzio. Unfortunately many metal haters have no respect drummers like Flo just because he plays fast. If he played slow and was in a jazz band you would probably like him.

  • I agree...Metal haters would just say death metal is just erratic banging of drums and screaming...what would they know !!!

  • yeah you got that right! I'm surrounded by so many!

  • sean reinart of cynic, death owns em both

  • jesus fucking christ hees quick!

death metal is probs the hardest genre of music to play drums to!

  • no, jazz is

  • is that Lord Worm or LaCroix on vocals

  • 2:45 HOLY SHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i used to like flo but i can't stand his technique n his style now.

  • vielo zu durcheinander und viel zu schnell!!!

  • george kollias and derek roddy are better

  • u can only see traces of drums sometimes....damn need to see this on shrooms or something......bad ass song and album by the way.

  • which album

  • None So Vile

  • dude you know your playing extreme metal when your going so fast you have to do a cymbal mute on the freaking hi hat 5 stars

    best drummer alive

  • Yeah, I fucking love htat.

  • i dont see a cymbal mute on the hihats just the logo

  • he's talking about around 3:40...a mute is when you grab the cymbal to stop the ringing...and there really is no point in doing that on a hi-hat cause you could close it with your feet....it may give a slightly different sound though

  • oh lol i know that i thought he meant like a cymbal mute pad you know?
