  • try a

Cuckoo rice cooker. it is essentially an automatic pressure cooker. Best tasting rice. You can use a regular pressure cooker but easy to burn the rice.

  • 5 or 6 times?!?! No!..it's only 4 times.

You don't want the water to be crystal clear, just pretty clear, cause your also washing away nutrients!

  • Who actually manufacturers your rice cookers for you? Cuckoo? Tiger?

  • We sell Sanyo rice cookers and also Cook Japan rice cookers that are made by an OEM specialist rice cooker manufacturer who also make rice cookers for several leading brands.

  • my rice keeps comming out to moist, I even add less water....Whats going on??

  • @paulyknit

Hi Paulyknit - what type of rice cooker are you using and rice?

We have a section on our website that might be helpful on cooking rice which has some trouble-shooting hints and tips

  • You seriously wash the rice in the inner bowl? that would scratch the inner bowl to hell, the proper way to wash rice is in a sieve so the water can run freely through. By washing the rice in the inner bowl & being that rough you will end up with broken rice grains and therefore sticky rice!

I notice this rice cooker doesn't have a brown or sushi rice setting. In my opinion it's not worth buying a rice cooker without this as you'll spend too much time messing trying to get water levels right!

  • yWashing the rice in the bowl has no impact whatsoevver on the inner bowl, it does not scratch. I've done this all my life as does my mother in Japan.

It does not break the grains, for longer grains you wash less vigourously than Japanese rice, but it is never sticky if cooked properly. You don't need a brown rice setting, sushi rice uses slightly less water, but the key thing is using sushi-su - I don't know any Japanese people that rely on a sushi setting

  • Hi i think i can do that! That looks so easy with the rice cooker. i will definitely invest in one of your very fine rice cooker. Thank you so so so much!

  • nice video thanks for sharing. how would you say long grain rice like jasmine rice cooks in the cooker? do you add less water vs the japanese rice?

  • thanks for the comment - jasmine rice cooks perfectly, use just use less water and don't need to wash it as much. there's is more information on the Cook Japan website re different types of rice.

  • love the machine - much better than my on-off cooker
