this amazingly dark beautiful and enchanting music would go well with lucio fulci's 7 gates of hell trilogy ( city of the living dead , the beyond and house by the cemetary ) as the whole surrealness would match perfectly
In the later episodes, Slimer and the Real Ghostbusters I think, there is another "spooky" music cue--not as dark as this one, a bit more mystical. I remember it in an episode wherein the Ghostbusters walked up a mountain and behind a waterfall. I seem to remember the tune as B, F#, A, D1, B. Do you have this ripped somewhere on YouTube, too, or does anyone remember what episode(s) it was in?
@tubeyhamster Well another tune I believe you are thinking about is in the episode Future Tense. You can hear it very clearly at the end of the second part (look for Future tense part 2). It begins the moment Egon starts checking brain waves of a TV set.
Has anyone else noticed how this tune never plays in any season after syndication (with the exception of Halloween II 1/2 in Season 2 for a very short moment when Samhaine is angry with his minions being defeated by "sheer mortals", as he himself puts it)?
I hate it the series changes in an obvious, easily noticeable way from Season 2 onwards.
This was also used in the episode where recently-deceased Agatha Grizzley wanted the Ghostbusters to finish her unfinished piece. This tune came in at the point when one of the apparitions pointed a large gun at one of the Ghostbusters.
I am watching RGB episodes and I hope to see one really frightening one where this tune would fit entirely.
This was my all-time favorite track from the Real Ghostbusters cartoon, used in The Collect Call of Cthulhu episode. It captured the mood and flavor of the tales and world of H.P. Lovecraft, the sinister cult and mighty Cthulhu himself! Thank you for posting and to whomever did the music!
@JoeVialFilms I really liked how they used it in Janine Melnitz, Ghostbuster during the Containment Unit scene. Really made me feel like I was trapped in a machine surrounded by endless gruesome ghosts!
They sure did know what they were doing early in the show's run!
Thank you for isolating these tracks (I know it wasn't easy)! The entire score for this and all other cartoons Shuki Levy and Haim Saban collaborated on should be released! C'mon! RGB, Heathcliff, Dennis the Menace, Beverly Hills Teens, etc. I, for one, would buy it without a second thought! But I'm certain licensing issues are one of many reasons why we don't have it now.
This was one of the best of the many cues. Is it just me, or in the later seasons when Chase Productions provided music, it sounds like an orchestra and not a synth...
I'm wondering if there is a tune thats from the scenes when the Ghostbusters begin to fight a ghost and it plays the theme song but without the lyrics.
Wow thanks so much for posting. This was always the creepiest tune in the series. Any chance of getting a clean version of the RGB theme from the promo that time life recently released? I bought the collection but I love the RGB version of the song better on the promo
Thanks so much Zack! Merry Christmas to you and I!
Such a eerily mysterious and haunting melody. I always associated this music with the scariest of the Ghostbusters enemies and their most perilous adventures.
Eh little bit of that electricity sound in the beginning. Tough to try and cut stuff together with sustained notes and have it be good. Ah well not too bad I think! :)

@tubeyhamster By this episode, do you mean Camping it up? youtube.com/watch?v=4m-Kisq5wr4
Arissef 11 months ago
@Arissef I might be confusing that episode with another, but Camping It Up does not have the music I was thinking of. Good thought though.
