Three words: disturbing, disturbing, disturbing. But it touches on how losing our self-control over our desires dehumanizes us, whether it's desire for power or pleasure. Loss of control over our sexual desires turns our partners into mere objects and loss of control over our need to eat destroys our health, while others in the world go hungry.
Why are so many films back in this time wierd! Excessive use of tweening from one object to another but it was a new thing back then I guess so they made as much use of it as they could.
This film has to be shown to people in modern nations today, especially in the United States. Probably might have to do a little editing out or censoring at certan parts to keep the religious reactionaries from crying foul, though.
@holypnuts, an excerpt of "Metadata" is on Youtube now. Search: Metadata Peter Foldes. But sadly not the full version, which I would love to see myself too.
Very trppy, but excellent artwork. It's a sad commentary on the state of the human condition that this short film is even more relevant 34 years after its creation.
Wow the ending was horrifying. Yet, still a beautiful film and gets better every time I watch it.
Thanks for the upload!

Back in 1974 and now we're selling world's health and future for our own greed. It is so sad how nothing changed.

Peter Foldes did another film that predated this one called 'megadata' in 1971 with the aid of computers.
I wonder if anyone has a copy of it?
celshader 3 years ago
Oh really? That would be really cool! But since it doesn't look like its on youtube that might mean its lost forever or locked up in some archive. =(
I couldnt even find anything on google that looked like it was about it.

I saw this when I was about 8 years old.
It has haunted me ever since.
I only saw it again for the 2nd time now at the age of 33.

This is made with some early morph computer program, which is in a geek way funny. Story has a point but animation/cg absolutely sucks. :)
