  • By far my favorite instrument now. Been looking at videos of people playing it. The sounds it makes sounds like something out of some of the best dreams I can imagine. It really does make me feel just so happy.

  • @TecmagDiamsStudios awesome! Glad you enjoyed.

  • This is my new favorite instrument. You've surpassed the euphonium, which I've been playing for years. This instrument is so beautiful. It always gives me the image of sitting on a tropical beach of some sort at night, surrounded by fruits and fireflies. Takes a lot of talent to create an image like that through music. Well done, I'm definitely subscribing and liking this. Of course, that's not nearly enough, but it's the best I can do.

  • @guitarhero1346 Thanks you for your comment. It was a lovely thing to wake up too! Blessings. Patti

  • Turn it down? More like crank it up!!

  • so beautiful

  • Some parts of the song played on this instrument really remind me of the music box from Elfen Lied. The sound of this instrument sounds so delicate. <3

  • This song is amazing I first heard it last year in 6th grade in band because my friend saith was playing it on his saxophone and I'd always make him play it and I'm in 7th grade now saith moved over the summe and I miss him dearly and when I hear this song it makes me sad and happy at once...I love it :)

  • if only i can view this 500million times... sadly i can only do it once every 2:11mins

  • I guess the term "hauntingly beautiful" is overused but still so appropriate here. I love this. It si so soothing and sort of hypnotic.

  • how much is a array mbira? cos i might get one.

  • Its a typewriter with a built in piano!

  • I think YouTube should really fix that second "Like" button. It's upside-down...

  • Its too different lo learn compare to piano ?

  • @godzuki444 very different. but fun!

  • I love the arrangement. The way the harmonies and rhythm layer in each verse is very nice. Wonderful.

  • magic !!

  • this instrument has such a beautiful, resonant sound.

  • i LOVE this instrument!! :) it just sounds so beautiful!! and your very good!! i MUST learn how to play one of these!! ^_^ Great job!

  • Well Done, Sir. I've been wanting to build something like this for a while. what type of pick-up are you using and are you using a pre-amp?

  • @TheKeithProject 2 channel stereo piezo pickup and a K&K preamp

  • I just put you on my ipod!

  • @10ioio I'm honored ;0)

  • @10ioio I'm honored ;0)

  • Fabulous!

  • If I could I would like to buy the instrument and learn how to play it, but in my neighbourhood there are no lessons for this instrument and I can't find it on internet to buy :(

  • @yaschie Try thearraymbira dot com

  • I think it sounds creepy because when he pulls a lower note, you hear the overtone really good. It´s difficult to tell just by listening but i think the accompaniment sounds always also a quint higher than the original notes. But this is what makes it really interesting in my opinion. I also think it´s beautiful!

  • Do you also play the harp? They seem similar. Oh, and awesome!

  • @charnk no but I'd love to learn! and thank you too.

  • this song sounds great on this instrument.. really really does...

  • @ClueLou Thank you. It's a beautiful instrument. I love it...

  • That was really fantastic. What a beautiful instrument!

  • this is beautiful but it creeps me out

  • nice

  • Totally full on Awesome playing. WOW.

  • sounds similar to Shire from Lord of the Rings-- I bet that would sound awesome on the AM

  • wow this just made my day i love this song!

  • Awesome!

  • you are amazing. i love the song and it sounds even better on the mbira.

  • @10ioio thank you so much. It's one of my favorites also. ;0)

  • man!! That is just LOVEly!! You are really great.. and what an amazing sounding Mbira! hard to believe that simple, bent pieces of metal could provide such a

beautiful tone. Of course, it's the wood in the Mbira as well, no doubt.

  • But then it's the same with any instrument, isn't it? A guitar also consists of just wood and a bunch of strings.. @timjmoran

  • what is the instrument played here?

  • This is called an Array Mbira. You can visit the makers website by googling the name.

  • soooo beautiful!

    impossible dont relax!

  • Patti, if you only knew how much harmony you bring to our world with your music.

    Thank you so much.

    Sincerely,

    The Tubers.

  • oh ;0) Thank you so much for your sweet comment !

  • No matter how many times I listen to this, it never old and its soooo relaxing. Wish I could play as good as you! I only have one of them small ones that are roughly hand sized and that even that gives off a nice relaxing tune.

  • Hi Patti-

love your playing. been thinking about getting an array mbira myself. was wondering which model this was. How many octaves and what type of wood? Thanks so much.

  • Thank you....Mine is a 4 octave. It's made of African Sapele. (sp?) It's a wonderful instrument. You'll love it!

  • I almost fell asleep, so relaxing and beautiful :3

  • I have never seen an mbira played this way. It is BEAUTIFUL!

  • Mannnn.... I wont say nothing cos I dont have words to say to these new instrument I discovered by you...

  • soundtrack to my morning!!

  • i love these videos, i hope you make more~

  • This is beautiful. :) I love the sound of the Mbira and the way you play it is lovely.

  • This... is so calming.. and beautiful... Awesome music.. awesome instrument.. you play with your heart.. just keep on that :-) I love it.

  • With the way you play the Array Mbira, it should not be classified as a miscellaneous instrument.

  • Hey, help a poor fellow out. Can you explain this array system to me?

I'm a keyboard player myself and I have a bit of trouble following the notes here. :P

  • lol. I plan on making a video soon of how it's layed out. It's on my list of to do things. :0)

But for now, it's layed out in 5ths ...

    takecare

  • This is wonderfull. I hope that you someday play something by the root of all western music... J.S.Bach- Maybe "Jesu, joy of man's desiring" or "Ich ruf zu dir Herr Jedu Christ"? I'm sure this would be awesome!

  • You bet. I've actually worked on Jesu a bit in the past ;0)

I'll try to finish it up for a video. Thanks for stopping by...

  • I really enjoy the sound, it complements the bass notes very well.

  • That was beautiful. Is your Array Mbria the four octave African Paduck model?

  • Yes it's a four octave, but it's the African Sapele...hope I spelled that correct.

    And Thanks!

    Patti

  • Just discovered your channel. WOW! This is really quite wonderful music you make. The funny thing is that I linked to you from a video with a little hand-made kalimba, which made a cute little musical clunking sound.

I have never seen this instrument before. It is truly beautiful in your capable hands!

I am so glad I found you. You really made MY day.

  • WOW!!!!!! That is jus beutiful!!! You really should make a CD. I'd buy it the first day it came out!! It has an amazing sound when the pro plays it. Keep it up.
