  • Wth was that? it looked like a horse pushing a cube and the cube pooped out diamonds into a checkerd box

  • What's happening. What are we looking at?

  • this vid sux!!!!

  • too short. hard to tell what is going on

  • yeah

  • Perhaps you should read the description then?

  • I want one.

  • its very expensive

  • the person/people who invented aerogel must be loving life now... XD

  • it was invented by samuel kistler, utech loves him.

  • as this is used for space missions where there is no atmosphere. would it not make any difference..

    just a thought

  • @letmeatem It makes a difference in how much weight you have to lift up into space,

and how much fuel you need to use to do it.

  • wow... that'd be cool, imagine using hydrogen! (or something more inert like helium)

  • Yes this is a compression test on the aerogel. The stuff feels a little spungy when pressed with fingers,so I imagine it would act this way. Then turning to fine dust as it breaks down to pressure.

  • what the hell is that?a screensaver?

  • For happyidiottalk, here's the explanation (taken from the description): This slow-motion video demonstrates what happens when a piece of polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA) made with aerogels is hit by a high-momentum projectile (the momentum is eight times higher than that of a .45-caliber bullet).

  • Can we have an explanation of what we're seeing here.

  • thats not aerogel

  • Absolutely astonis

  • That was really cool, it just sort of bled out.

  • wtf??

  • I think the aerogel material was inside that cube, and once it was squished, little white shards like grains of sand poured out of it

  • wtf

  • useless

  • things take time to develop into an actual place in peoples life

  • What use is a new born babe.

  • wth there is nothing there

  • i cant see anything
