Jean Gilles was certainly the most delicate french composer of religious music during the baroque period.
This CD is still ancient now (October 2000) and includes the Motet to St John the Baptist plus three lessons for Tenebrae (holy Wednesday, Thursday and Friday)
The former french recording label is ADDA 581119, now distributed by Universal "Accord Baroque."

Thank you, macdonald. I have loved Gilles' Requiem, in the recording by this same ensemble. And now to have this wonderful motet. Thank you.
