Slaughterhouse animals suffers and I agree with that but remember with sports hunters there is a lot of animals left wounded and crippled to die a slow death especially from bowhunting. In bowhunting when the animals are shot there is no "quick death" 99% of the time that is why hunters wait before retrieving or tracking the deer because the wounded animals can get spooked and take off so they "let the deer layup and die".

Aside from the doubling population you do realize that in most startes the deer mate or "rut" just before the hunting seasons begin. You can also notice that the deer become more active and you see more hit on the side of the road. BEFORE HUNTERS GET INTO THE WOODS. There are higher accidents because of the rut, not just becasue of hunters.

The onley reson why there are more deer car axidents during hunting seson is because we hunt in the fall deer start to go to lower elivations and thay travel more and thats the simple reson why. Ceader mountan has a lot of deer in the sumer and coral pink sand dunes dont have hardly any in the sumer but in the winter thay travel from ceader mountan and down to coral pinks and then you will see a lot of deer there for the rest of the winter.

Killing deer in the number that sports kill every year causes compensatory rebound effect and the hunting public knows this, DNR knows this . Just imagine all of the DVA's that would occur if we stopped hunting. Within one year there would be over 60 million deer in just the U.S. Just think of all the DVA's that would occur with twice as many deer. So maybe hunters cause a few DVA's, but imagine how many more there would be if we didn't hunt. I love the way hunters use that "we are not allowed to hunt at night" BS, when the peak hours of DVA's are actually the time hunters do head out to the woods plus they are allowed to be in the woods into the night tracking wounded deer. Google "tracking wounded deer" and you will see how long it takes for the animals to die especially from bowhunting. Those hours are also rush hours also , so take all those into account hunting plays a huge role.
