A beautiful gem in a fairly unknown film. A Giselle-like story of a woman with a heart condition who has been forbidden to dance--but cannot stop. The later, longer section was choreographed by Frederick Ashton.
@early60srcool Aside from her being an amazing dancer, I'm always mystified by her eyes! They're not so much "deer in the headlights," as really just enormous and beautiful! Thanks so much for your comment.
Is this from the "Story of Three loves"? The same movie w/ James Mason? I need to see it now. She is fucking fabulous! I respect her decision to leave film and remain a dancer, she's just too good. But I'm grateful for the small gems she left, she even makes the charleston look amazing.
@Catulli00 You're right on the money! This is from the "Story of Three Loves" Very few performers even came close to the amazing talent of this lady. I'm honored that you liked this, and appreciate your comment about her having left us too soon. If you've not seen at least one more "Moira" that I've uploaded, please try and watch. Meanwhile, my best wishes to you!
@Catulli00 She returned to film long after she stopped dancing, she stopped in 1953 because no one in the Royal Ballet was allowed to overtake Fonteyn, but she returned to film several times.
@kimmois1 Must try and find those clips from later years! Thanks for the update; I didn't know there was much, or anything else out there! Best wishes.
@melizmatea Me too! She seemed to come and go in an instant. Sadly, she left many of us wanting so much more. Either way, I'm grateful to hear from you, and delighted we both have the same wish!
The epitome of grace, elegance, .incredible movement., and with unmatched body and facial beauty, she was a superb actress, But oh that wondrous stage presence! And Mason as her mentor..
Do you still have any of the "vinyl" nature? I hope so! You might be sitting on a "gold-mine!" They're making a big "come-back!" As Gloria Swanson said, "I HATE that word; it's not a comeback, it's a RETURN!" Thanks, as always for your friendship and support!
Technicolor yawn here! I'm in the same shape. I have about 11 albums; none of which would turn head 1! Wish we'd been "buds" when you were in NYC and still worked for that grand emporium on Broadway! Today the contents would have represented about $200,000,000.00!
Yeah, those albums are all in the store's basement & some cost hundreds. I remember someone asked for the original vinyl for "Valley of The Dolls", it cost $200.00, back then!

The lovely Scots lass Miss Shearer! So little screen time, so much talent.
I think one should always wear a cape, in case one comes across a single opera glove-
Rather a lot of leg extensions, sort of like ice skating.

AWESOME clip!
She's got style, class & sensuality!
And, set to one of my favorite music pieces, too!
Pardon me while I get my Rachmaninoffs!:)
