  • @AlexB1001 You do not know what you are talking about. Do not understand why people like you even make comments. Let's wait 23 years and see if music you like is still being played, let alone considered a classic.

  • @AlexB1001 You need to put down the glass pipe and quit smokin that crack! What there making now is la la commercial CRAP! Old School House is Quality!!! And the new shit will never be able to touch it!!! So put down the pipe and take your meds!

  • @housemanchi

Listening to this again, it's actually sick! I still think you're a dickhead, but I like it now! For the record, I'm a massive pre-2000s deep house fan, so don't group me into the 'mainstream' group. Thank you and goodbye.

  • @AlexB1001 Your a loser newbie! You and your new-school music SUCK!!!

  • @AlexB1001 says the guy who loves justice...

  • @AlexB1001 Just remember, Alex, if it wasn't for this "shit", you wouldn't be enjoying the music you do now. So many of today's sounds can be traced back to the period tunes like this were made in. Try not to forget that.

  • I actually cut myself on those high-hats - they're so fizzy.

  • This classic tune was played a lot here in Brazil........Acid House ruuuuuuuulez

  • House is a very neglected form of music , you don't here it anywhere on the radio..:(.

  • I first learned about house music through a cat from New York (Bedsty) while I lived in Korea back in 1989. I learned my first house steps in Korea, and man was I having the time of my life! I remember this song very well! I spent many nights dancing to this song. House Music Don't Stop!

  • Pam Pam...!

  • yeahh bring back the warehouse parties! family function shake and finger pop, soul to soul @ greenland street all about the music!! dancing all nite then heading back on the northern line back to south London at 6am!! finding the parties back then was so exciting!

  • @soulfulLuva I'M WITH YA, I'M A PRODUCT OF GROUND ZERO CHICAGO & DETROIT. WHEN I CAME OVER TO LONDON IN 86" & SAW HOW THEY WERE GET'N THE MUSIC, IT WAS AMAZING. I HAD TO COME TO EUROPE & THE UK TO FEEL AT HOME!

  • @1BMACK Yeah back then was crazy they dont party like they used to it was straight to the dance floor and dance all night. I was at a club recently all I saw was people standing around the dj booth and the rest staring at the DJ !!!!!! whats that all about????? the beats were weak didnt even sound like house. waste of money! would of loved to be in Chigago in those days.

I hear there is alot of good djs there at the moment and the scene is growing

  • @soulfulLuva Blessed I've seen that all too much over the last 15 yrs bro but Nuff luv an hopfully we'll party together one day

  • @soulfulLuva Great Post.. I wish the ware house parties would return as well.. But I think that todays generation do not follow music as passionately as we did back then in the 1980's

  • @redjam40 yes I agree also there are so many sub genres of house now and many of the people listening have no idea of the roots of house music nor do they care. Many of them really believe that David Guetta and co is real house music

  • Anyone know how he got this bass?

    Don't sound like a 303, 101 maybe?

    thanks!

  • @westcoasthaze it is indeed a 303.. when i toyed with the box it sounded like this at about 45% cutoff, 60% reso, and 50% env mod...low decay, not exactly those settings obviously, but in the neighborhood

  • WOW i forgot about this track. WOW

  • How on earth could 5 people not like this? This is a classic track!

  • amazing song thanks for posting!

  • No diss on you bro,But are you sure this came out in 88'.Its got to 84-85.I'm 41 yrs old i could swear it was no later than 87'?

  • ChiTOWN!!

  • Cont:3

There was a divide in England at that period of time in regards to what was considered cool. Within less then a year House music had taken the country by Storm! Remember cities like Manchester, Leeds and Sheffied were well into this sound well before London. London played catch up, but when they did the whole thing exploded. It was London acceptance on this sound that allowed the sound of Chicago to go WORLD WIDE! London internationalised HOUSE MUSIC when hey finally understood it....!

  • Cont:2

Also ask House a music artists from Chicago such as Adonis, Marshall Jefferson, Chip E, Farley JackMaster Funk and I think at the time Larry Heard were they toured England for the first time. They will tell you where they played. Jazzy M was the first Radio show (Pirate or otherwise) in London to play and concenrate on House music. Before then club dj's that tried to play that kind of music in London were given the hardest time. Jazzy M Radio show changed peoples view on the music.

  • What a Lot of Londoners will not admit is that it was the North of England that played House music first. London was well into the sounds of Rare Groove & Soul in the years of 1986&1987.It was the Northen Clubs of England that started playing this kind of music first. If you want facts ask any London clubber about night such as Shake& Fingerpop, The Bass Clef, etc in regards to the Raregroove sound that took over London. Ask Radio listener in London as to what was dominating the Pirate airwaves.

  • @redjam40 I am a london clubber that used to be in the soul to soul and family function shake and finger pop (norman Jay) parties like crazy and they were playing these classic tracks in London also I wouldnt say it was first up north. I remember one of the biggest rare groove tracks was 'chocolate milk - action speaks louder than words' used to drive people crazy!. They also used to play some hip hop too

  • @soulfulLuva People from the North (I'm from the North before anyone whines) like to think the Hacienda was the be all and end all of acid house, it really didn't get onto it till way after the likes of Shoom came about. The warehouse raves of London gave the North the ideas...then the North just did the parties about 10 times better.

  • @hypercatjohn to be honest the north have alot to be credited for sometimes we londoners can be like americans we only see whats happening down here when in fact other cities like manchester, liverpool and bristol have made a huge musical impact on the world even more than london. haha up north they definetly know how to party ive seen plenty of footage of those acis house parties lol

  • ADONIS "NO WAY BACK"

  • I am in tears! what a tune!

  • yeeeeeeaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhh

  • Hit man and her was shite it was usually/always? filmed in nighclubs playing pop music.

I knew the Hacienda was overated but I didnt know it was that bad.And as for it being pioneering it was well behind at least 2 or 3 London acid clubs - the scene took off from London. Hacienda?Didnt they use to play guitar shit like Stone Roses (snigger)

  • This is where the House story starts, the orignal Chi house sound, There are many sub genres today that i love, and these orignals are where it all comes from. Long live HOUSE

  • @MegaChicity Yeah, I wish I could find video of early Chicago footwork/juke. Most of YouTube is filled with videos of current Detroit/Chicago jit/juke videos. They're awesome, but I'd love to see video of people doing it way back when. Anyone find anything out there in the YT-verse.

  • what you here is the TB303 and the Roland 808 and 909 google it

  • Wow, I never got to go to the Hacienda, in Manchester, England. It was one of the first big House nights to eventually play House music all night long.....

I saw the place in its hey day on a late night saturday how here in English tv called "Hit man and Her". Can you remember that show?

It was a show that went around the nightclubs of England live in the late 1980 early 1990's. I caught one show coming from the "Hacienda" and I couldn't believe waht I was seeing. The place had so much energy.

  • What a club mate.. It was way ahead of it's time. I actully went to the night in question. 1988 was the best year in there. Lots of naughty but nice stuff going on. I really miss the place. Got shut down a few years ago and was turned into penthouse apartments...the hacienda apartments :-)

  • @HouseParty808 I worked on them fitting windows, badly built expensive apartments about the right size as a posh kennel for a dog :) (Unless you could afford the penthouse).

  • @RegenBogenBlick badly fitted windows i know that much only jesting ya=)

  • @fivedinners I can't really deny it :)

  • @theperfectdrug82 oh fuck! hahahahahaaaah!

I THINK ONE OF THE SHOWS COVERD A NIGHT,,,,SOUL KITCHEN OR HOSPITAL, THAT'S HOW I FOUND OUT ABOUT PHIL ASHER & I CAN'T RECALL THE OTHER GUY BUT A SOLID PLAYER IN THE UK COMMUNITY AT THE TIME. NOT TO MENTION THE COVERAGE OF THE ALTERN 8 PARTY BACK IN 91! THAT WAS MASSIVE, & I STILL REMEMBER BEING IN THE CROWD WHEN ALTERN 8 HIT
