On this burn we are not actually using a surfactant (soap). In fact, the hose is only running at about 70 psi which is about the minimum you want to conduct a burn. What makes this set up effective is that I am putting out the fire on the mowed fire guard (that is the fuel is very low) and I'm holding the tip of the about six inches off the ground. This allows me to put all the water on the fire. If you look very little is being sprayed into the black or into the fire guard.

What liquid/solution are you using to control the flame? It seems to put the fire out significantly faster that what I think water would do.
